2021环同济设计周丨老家新材&犀牛制作工作坊
背景
Background
这是一个关于保护犀牛的故事，也是一个社会创新项目。2017年初，应南非Peace Parks Foundation (PPF) 之邀，同济大学设计创意学院部分师生团队开始着手开展保护犀牛的公益活动，运用设计思维引导公益创新，希望将所学所感更多地融入到社会创新中。
同济大学设计创意学院工业设计专业方向二年级的同学们在老师们的指导下，以各自地域文化为蓝本，通过运用不同的材料，做出了各具特色的犀牛玩偶，又一次将设计融入到保护犀牛这一社会创新项目当中，呼唤更多人加入到保护犀牛的行动中来。

在课题开始时，同学们从自己的家乡入手，收集属于自己“老家”的心情版（Moodboard），每位同学收集的图片都各有各自家乡的特点与韵味，饱含着属于家乡的独家记忆，为同学们之后的犀牛创作奠定下良好的基础。
At the beginning of the project, the students started from their hometown and collected the Moodboard of their own "hometown". The pictures collected by each student have their own characteristics and charm of their hometown, full of exclusive memories belonging to their hometown, which lays a good foundation for the students' future rhino creation.

同学们基于自己收集的心情板进行创作，创作的第一步是制作属于自己的“数字犀牛”，大家精心为自己的犀牛“打扮”，数字犀牛们都各具特色。
The students create based on the moodboard they have collected. The first step in creation is to make their own "digital rhino". Everyone carefully "dresses up" their own rhino, and each digital rhino has its own characteristics.

接下来，同学们进行了实际的材料实验，利用学校提供的模具，尝试将设计转化为实体模型，产出独一无二的小犀牛，下面来看看大家的实验过程吧！
Next, the students had actual material experiment, using the mold provided by the school, trying to convert the design into a physical model, and produce a unique little rhino. Let's take a look at the experiment process!

据不完全统计，大家使用了近百种材料！包括环氧树脂、光敏树脂、硅胶、石膏、混凝土、沙砾、吉利丁片、羊绒、落叶、竹、渔网、花布、光纤、玻璃、锡、糯米粉、丝瓜……甚至还有大白兔奶糖糖纸！
According to incomplete statistics, you have used nearly a hundred materials! Including epoxy resin, photosensitive resin, silica gel, gypsum, concrete, gravel, gelatin sheet, cashmere, fallen leaves, bamboo, fishing net, floral cloth, optical fiber, glass, tin, glutinous rice flour, loofah... and even white rabbit toffee Candy paper!

每一位同学都经过了多轮尝试，挑选出最适合小犀牛的材料，上海、重庆、吉林、海南、新疆、台北、杭州、苏州、上海、广东、黔东南……用不同材质与色彩来试图展现不同地域文化与风土人情的犀牛玩偶，每一只都能牢牢抓住大家的眼球。让我们一起来欣赏部分同学的作品吧！
After many rounds of trials, each of the students selected the most suitable materials for the little rhino, such as Shanghai, Chongqing, Jilin, Hainan, Xinjiang, Taipei, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Shanghai, Guangdong, Southeast Guizhou... with different materials and colors Rhino dolls that try to show different regional cultures and customs, each one can firmly grasp everyone's eyes. Let's enjoy some of the students' works together!
