tm活动 | 山水之间,赶一场影像歌墟



我希望化身为一位DJ,用山歌的碎片拼接出一首破碎的山歌。反复吟唱的山歌将引领观众穿越差异的裂缝,这恰是文化的韧性所在。 
我也希望在真实与虚构的裂缝之间,文化记忆与主观感受的裂缝之间,追寻一种诗性的可能生活。

“I hope to be a DJ, piecing together a broken folk song through the fragments I found. The repetitively chanted folk songs, full of cultural tenacity, will guide the audience to travel across the gap resulted from differences.
Situating myself between reality and fictionality, I also hope to pursue the possibility of a poetic life in the interstice between cultural memories and subjective feelings.” (Yang Xiao)

“歌墟”是壮族地区的山歌集会,曾经广为盛行。它通常围绕宗祠或竜树进行,其间,男女相约而至,即兴作词,你来我往,对唱万物。在纪录影像《欢墟》中,摄影机沿途抵达了不同的歌者与集会,流转于乡土与城镇,寻找着歌墟散逸的踪迹。传递的山歌开启了一次迁徙。
在片中,杨潇的镜头与流动的人群、他们复杂的现实处境、陌生的语言相遇。导演如何用影像语言构建一幅虚实交织的群像,在映后谈上,我们将与他聊聊《欢墟》的创作思路和拍摄过程。
杨潇的影片中拍摄到对歌的人因生计而外出,以及网上聊天群作为新的音乐空间。巧合的是,放映前一天的活动 “进到群里来唱戏” 是关于另一个西南地区族群在珠三角打工时组建的音乐社群,ta们通过群聊发起的唱侗歌排侗戏的业余活动,在枯燥的工业区生活中建立爱好和友谊。社区实验室策展人张涵露也将谈及此次活动背后的策划经历和观察,并与杨潇一同聊聊有关西南山地、城乡流动及公共空间等话题。
Hawfwen is a traditional gathering that used to be popular, where the Zhuang people would sing folk songs. It often takes place around clan temples or under old trees. Singers are divided into male and female groups. They improvise their lyrics to sing in correspondence with one another. In the documentary THE MOUNTAINS SING traveling along the songs in an antiphonal style. The camera found different singers and gatherings, lingering in rural areas and cities, trying to find the broken echoes of hawfwen.
During the post-screening Q&A, we will discuss with Yang Xiao the creative and shooting processes of THE MOUNTAINS SING. Yang adopts mixed approaches of documentary and fiction with his camera wandering among flows of people, their complicated social condition, and strange languages. 
The film captures singers migrating to cities for living and making space for musical gathering with online group chats. Zhang Hanlu, curator of Times Museum's Social Practice Lab, will join the conversation and talks about the event on the day before, "Come Sing Together in the Group Chat", which is a music performance by an ethnic Kam troupe based in Jinlin Town, Zhaoqing. Both events touches upon the topics of Southwest minority groups, urban-rural dichotomy, and bottom-up public space.

杨潇 ,生于广西桂林市,毕业于上海大学电影MFA专业,现居上海。曾以执行导演与分镜师的身份参与过《南方车站的聚会》、《路边野餐》等艺术电影的制作。以剪辑师的身份参与过电影 《秋田》等电影的后期工作。其个人作品《动物园》、《霹雳香蕉》、《榴莲榴莲》等作品曾在巴黎、图尔、夏威夷、华盛顿、釜山、德里、台北、北京、上海、西宁、南京等国内外影展竞赛或展映。

Yang Xiao , born in Guilin, Guangxi in 1989. He was graduated from Shanghai University and now lives in Shanghai. His past works include THE SUSPENDED STEP (2013), DANCING TOGETHER (2015), and CHRONICLE OF A DURIAN (2017).

As an assistant director and storyboard artist, he participated in the production of THE WILD GOOSE LAKE (2019) and KAILI BLUES (2014), and he has also engaged in film editing of THE FALL (2018). His works have been exhibited in several international film festivals at home and abroad, including Paris, Tours, Hawaii, Washington, Orlando, Busan, Delhi, Taipei, Beijing, Shanghai, Xining, and Nanjing.




黑帐篷剧场是一个围绕动态影像作品的策划项目,由社区实验室策展人张涵露和独立影像策划人张子木共同发起。这一项目命名灵感来源于藏区牧民的传统黑帐篷——由耗牛毛制成,是世代传袭中衍生出的高原生态居所,凝聚了牧人在严苛的自然环境与丰富的生灵世界中所习得的空间秩序与栖息智慧。我们将动态影像的参与式观看与议题交叉的对话视作一种都市游牧的经验剧场,与来自不同母语、多元文化与生态关系的影像文本和影像创作者一起,共同理解、体验、排演,想象我们所身处的这个多维度的世界构建,将美术馆内的黑盒子空间变成都市生境中的黑帐篷剧场。
