不知道大家有没有被这些美哭的台词感动到呢？究竟是什么样的电影有如此大的魔力呢？没错就是被称为“壁纸狂魔”的日本动画导演新海诚的最新电影作品《你的名字》。几乎身边的每个朋友都在讨论这部电影，而各大媒体也不停的宣传和报道。由此可见这部电影的火爆程度，但是“壁纸狂魔”也不是一天就炼成的，在《你的名字》之前也积累了大量的动画制作经验，以及形成了自己独特的美术风格。

Five Centimeters Per Second was finished at the start of 2007. The film consists of three segments including Cherry Blossom, Cosmonaut and Five Centimeters Per Second, running about an hour all together. The film was awarded Best Animated Feature Film at the 2007 Asia Pacific Screen Awards.

The story is set in Japan, beginning in the 1990s up until the present day, with each segment centered on a boy named Takaki Tono. He quickly befriends Akari Shinohara when she transfers to his elementary school in Tokyo. They bond over their seasonal allergies. However, Takaki has to move one day and loses contact with Akari. They try every means to find each other but it always proves futile. The film ends with their memories of enjoying the cherry blossoms in their innocent childhood.

It is a slightly futuristic story about the maturation of a recently independent young woman and her changing relationship with her father. She and Her Cat is an independent 5-minute Japanese original video animation created in 1999. It is about the relationship between a male cat and his female owner from the cat's perspective.
《她和她的猫》是新海诚于1999年独立创作的一部五分钟长的动画短片。本动画片以一只公猫的视角，讲述了“他”与女主人在同一个屋檐下所过的略带感伤的淡然日子。
The animation used a series of still images with very little motion. The entire movie is done in black and white with monochrome shading. Makoto Shinkai creates the background images by taking real pictures and editing them with computer graphics. Because of the popularity of the short video, it was adapted into a TV animation in 2016.

Voices of a Distant Star premiered in Japan in February 2002. It chronicles a long-distance relationship between two close friends. One is a soldier, who attempts to communicate with his friend over the course of an interstellar war using text messages that take years to reach their recipient.
《星之声》于2002年2月在日本公映，它讲述了一对恋人跨越星球的异地恋故事。尽管一个人远在另一个星球也而它也选择给好友发短信联系，然而对方收到这条短信却需要越来越多的时间。
Jump to the year of 2046, the anime starts with a schoolgirl named Mikako Nagamine who is recruited to the United Nations Space Army to fight in a war against a group of aliens called the Tarsians. Mikako's friend Noboru Terao remains on Earth. The two continue to communicate across space using email on their mobile telephones. As the Lysithea travels deeper into space, messages take increasingly longer to reach Noboru on Earth, and the time-lag in their correspondence eventually spans years.

Against the backdrop of Japan's separation into two islands because of war, the anime follows the story of three friends including two boys and a girl living in Aomori on the northern island. During their childhood, the three long to go to a giant and mysterious tower standing at the southern island. As time goes by, the girl catches a strange disease and sleeps continuously for the most part of three years. The two boys want to save her but also shoulder the responsibility of fighting in the war. How do they choose between friendship and safeguarding their homeland? The two boys find all the answers at the tower.

This film is the director's longest animation film to date and is described as a lively film with adventure, action, and romance centered on a cheerful and spirited girl on a journey to say farewell. The film was released in Japan in May, 2011.
这部电影是导演新海诚时长最长的一部动画电影，影片主要讲述了一个活波可爱的小女孩儿展开了一场传奇的冒险告别之旅。

The Garden of Words is a 2013 Japanese anime focusing on Takao Akizuki, a 15-year-old aspiring shoemaker, and Yukari Yukino, a mysterious 27-year-old woman he keeps meeting at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden on rainy mornings. While Takao is skipping his morning class to design shoes, Yukino is avoiding work due to personal problems in her professional life. Yukino tells Takao nothing about herself, including her name, while Takao opens up to her, sharing his passion for shoes by offering to make a pair for her.

Shinkai wrote the story as a tale of "lonely sadness", based on the meaning of the traditional Japanese word for "love", and uses shoes as a metaphor for life. The movie was selected as the Year's Best Animation in iTunes' Best of 2013 and won the 2013 Kobe Theatrical Film Award.

Compared with other sad animations created by Makoto Shinkai, A Gathering of Cats is a funny and interesting anime. The story is told from the perspective of a cat called Chobi living in a normal family of four. Every morning, Chobi's tail is often stepped on by all family members and he is angry about that. The cat often plots his revenge against family members before dinner. However, the cat would give up the plan after taking some tasty food.

Many anime fans prefer to call Egao a music video rather than an anime because of its amazing soundtrack and short run time.

The story mainly tells a warm and moving story about a little girl and a hamster. Simple and sincere, they live in a comfortable state. "Many people often complain about their daily life and I think modern people are highly fickle. I just want to convey something positive in the anime to make people reflect on their past lives and move on happily," Makoto Shinkai said in an interview.
