Beijing marks 100 days until the Winter Olympics on Wednesday. 

The Chinese capital in February will become the first host of a Summer and Winter Games and last week welcomed the Olympic flame.

The 2022 Games, which take place just six months after the pandemic-delayed Tokyo Summer Olympics, will be held in a strict "closed loop" bubble to thwart infections.

The estimated 2,900 athletes must be fully vaccinated or face 21 days' quarantine upon arrival in the Chinese capital.

Unlike the Tokyo Games, there will be spectators, but ticket sales are limited to people living in China.

China lit the Olympic flame for Beijing 2022 Winter Games last week, marking the start of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, which will make Beijing the first "double Olympic city"  – hosting both the Summer and Winter Olympics.

The preparations for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and Winter Paralympic Games are being actively and orderly promoted. Based on its rich experience in pandemic prevention and hosting large events, China has further refined and improved its pandemic prevention measures. 

再过100天，北京将作为全球首个承办夏季、冬季奥运会的“双奥之城”，吸引全球的目光。

"Through the unique formats and methods with Chinese characteristics, we hope that people all over the world can experience China's vibrant sports culture and appreciate the enthusiasm of every Chinese person to participate in and support the Olympic Games," Wang Xiangyu, a senior 2022 official, said last week.

The Games -- running Feb 4-20 -- will make use of some of 2008's venues, including the "Bird's Nest" national stadium for the opening and closing ceremonies.

冬奥会奖牌公布！

Inspired by Chinese jade ornaments, the official medals of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games were unveiled on Tuesday, 100 days ahead of the opening of the premier sporting event.

After months of anticipation and secrecy, the organizing committee of the Beijing 2022 Games introduced the medals — dubbed tong xin, which means togetherness — during a ceremony marking the countdown to the opening of the event on Feb 4.

北京冬奥会奖牌“同心”由圆环加圆心构成牌体，形象来源于中国古代同心圆

玉璧，共设五环，寓意五环同心，同心归圆，表达了“天地合、人心同”的中华文化内涵，也象征着奥林匹克精神将人们凝聚在一起，冬奥荣光、全球共享。奖牌设计与北京2008年奥运会奖牌“金镶玉”相呼应，展现“双奥之城”的文化传承。奖牌正面中心刻有奥林匹克五环标志，圆环浅刻装饰纹样，均来自中国传统纹样，其中冰雪纹体现冬奥会的特征，祥云纹表达吉祥的寓意。

北京2022年冬奥会奖牌造型质朴简洁，体现了北京2022年冬奥会“简约、安全、精彩”的办赛要求。与北京2008年奥运会奖牌“金镶玉”相呼应，展现了“双奥之城”的文化传承。

本着“两个奥运 同样精彩”的原则，冬残奥会奖牌与冬奥会奖牌选用同样的形象来源，设计一脉相承。

奖牌正面中心刻有国际残奥委会标志，圆环浅刻冰雪纹与祥云纹，周围刻有北京2022年冬残奥会英文全称（Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games）字样及金、银、铜的盲文。奖牌背面中心刻有北京冬残奥会会徽，周围刻有北京2022年冬残奥会中文全称（北京2022年冬残奥会）字样。奖牌圆环上刻有13个点及运动的弧线。奖牌背面最外环镌刻获奖运动员的比赛项目名称。

在全球应对新冠肺炎疫情的大背景下，北京冬奥会的组织运营和防疫举措也成为大众关注的焦点。《北京2022年冬奥会和冬残奥会防疫手册》第一版（以下简称《防疫手册》）正式对外发布，它将为参赛运动员和奥运会相关人员的安全提供更好的保障。

根据《防疫手册》，北京冬奥会和冬残奥会赛时将实行闭环管理，涵盖抵离、交通、住宿、餐饮、竞赛、开闭幕式等所有涉冬奥场所。《防疫手册》鼓励和提倡所有运动员接种疫苗，提出北京冬奥会和冬残奥会参赛运动员疫苗接种“应接尽接”。来华前14天完成全程疫苗接种者，入境后直接进入闭环管理；未接种或未完成全程接种的，入境后进行21天集中隔离观察。此外，为了达到更好的防疫效果，闭环内人员需进行每日咽拭子检测，而且也需佩戴KN95/N95/FFP2或同等标准的医用防护口罩。

接下来，北京冬奥组委还将结合测试赛情况、全球疫情形势、各个国家和地区的疫苗接种情况以及防疫政策，发布第二版北京冬奥会《防疫手册》。

While the global situation for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic remains severe and complex, China is committed to delivering on every promise made in its bid for the Winter Olympics, demonstrating extraordinary scientific and technological strength and excellent management capabilities in the preparations for the games.

The first edition of the playbooks for the 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in China was released on Monday by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

The second edition of the playbooks will be released by the end of 2021, according to CMG. More details will be added based on the world's progress fighting the coronavirus in the coming months.

随着筹备工作进入冲刺的关键时刻，北京冬奥会的场馆搭建也进入收尾阶段。按照计划，北京冬奥会所有场馆将在年内全部按时交付。包括国家速滑馆、首钢滑雪大跳台、国家高山滑雪中心、国家雪车雪橇中心、国家跳台滑雪中心、国家越野滑雪中心等新建场馆在内，北京冬奥会三大赛区的所有竞赛场馆已于去年底竣工，相关配套基础设施建设同步完成。

在北京、延庆、张家口三个赛区设立的冬奥村公寓样板间也已经全部完成布置。冬奥村每一套户内都设置了独立的空调系统跟新风系统，力求为运动员营造舒适的比赛环境。据介绍，在冬奥会结束后，北京冬奥村将转换成为北京市的人才公寓。

随着北京冬奥会一系列测试赛的顺利举行，志愿者的身影活跃在赛场的各个角落。目前，已有近500名志愿者进入冬奥村、冬残奥村开始进行岗位培训。届时，将有超过2500名志愿者分布在三个冬奥村开展志愿服务，服务覆盖30多个业务领域、100多个岗位。

百日之后，让我们共同见证“双奥之城”开启崭新历史篇章。
