A rose is a rose is a rose, wrote poet Gertrude Stein. And on China’s 520 Day, demand for such flowers shoots sky high as lovers actually stop and smell them.

Start with Cava Bonaval Brut (RMB119) from Spain, a dry sparkling wine made using the Champagne method and that is delicious both straight up and in cocktails.
