The time has come for our annual Hot Chili Pepper Eating Contest, when Beijing’s boldest tastebuds cast their sails and navigate the fiery rivers of a mouthwatering hell. In years past, we’ve lost many a brave sailor to the unforgiving seas of spice. One, however, always emerges from the storm victorious, going on to become our Captain of Capsaicin and earning the adoration of lesser mortals.

The competition, now in its ninth year, is the scorching sun around which
Hot & Spicy Fest, taking place from Jun 25-27 at Galaxy Soho, will revolve. However, it wouldn’t be possible without a few willing victims. That’s why we’re looking for 24 people (eight per day) who are intent to subject themselves to a maelstrom of chili-induced suffering, noshing on a series of raw peppers that grow incrementally hotter and spicier by the bite as thousands of admirers look on in shock and awe.

Don't expect much sympathy from this lot

Aside from unfettered bragging rights, each day's winner will take home a bottle of tequila to hopefully drown out the pain. What's more, given that we expect everyone to soak through their clothes with a healthy drench of sweat, we'll throw in a fresh and limited edition Hot Chili Pepper Eating Competition T-shirt just for participating.

If you think you have what it takes to beat the heat then send an email to marketing@truerun.com by midnight, Monday, Jun 22 with your full name, the date you’d like to attend, nationality, and phone number.

Finally, if you want to buy your presale tickets, you can do so now by scanning the code below. Read more about what advance tickets guarantee you
here.

And with that, may the spiciest hombre or mujer win!
