Q
In 2011 you participated in the residency with Tara Foundation and you traveled with Tara to Galápagos Islands and Ecuador. Galápagos Islands and Ecuador may not be familiar residency destinations for many people, even artists. How did you learn about this residency with Tara?
Aurore de la Morinerie (Hereinafter referred to as "A.M.")
I have had the opportunity of working with Agnès b. for many years, and she has always been a great supporter of Tara. She was aware of my desire and taste for illustrating nature and suggested I join this incredible adventure.

Q
What did you expect before the residency, and how did the residency impact your career as an artist and illustrator afterwards?
A.M.
This journey with scientists and explorers has been a revelation for me, not only on a human basis but also in the discovery of an unexplored animal world.

Q

Q
What did you expect before the residency, and how did the residency impact your career as an artist and illustrator afterwards?
A.M.
The monotype technique allows for greater mystery when it comes to using ink. It can beautifully translate the mysteries of the depths and inhabitants of the ocean.

As an illustrator, you have been working with a number of fashion brands throughout your career path. It has also become a key topic, when it comes to the relationship between fashion/fast fashion and environmental protection. How do you see the relationship between the fashion industry and environmental protection?
A.M.
I feel very concerned about this issue and wish for my work to be increasingly used as a means to expose a healthier relationship between both.

Q

Q
What kind of exhibition experience do you hope to bring to the audience? Do you anticipate an audience during the creation of your work?
A.M.
I hope that this exhibition will fascinate the audience and create the same level of environmental consciousness I was able to gain during this fantastic journey aboard Tara. As for anticipating the audience beforehand, it truly depends on the nature of the work and topic.
