 9/9 Crowdfunding-themed Topic Attracted over 10 Million Views.

The topics - Help Transgender People out of Depression and #mysummerwithtrans have attracted over 10 million views. The 11 posts under the topics received 5.74 million of views, with “Posters of Transgender People(the 1st set)”and “Support Transgender People in China with People from All Walks of Life” being forwarded for 6,395 times and 1,035 times respectively.

Interviews with 18 Transgender People Attracted 220 Thousand of Views.

[Group Videos of Transgender people in China: Today We Speak Out for Ourselves] The video has attracted 220,000 viewers. The article published in WeChat official account of the Center has had 10,732 views, with 43,128 views for the series of articles.

Gender Workshop X IHS Markit

Beijing LGBT Center collaborated with IHS Markit’s Beijing branch companyon an immersion workshop on gender diversity and anti-gender-based violence.Shen Qiang and Ren Naying from the Development Department acted as coordinators in the work shop, leading over 20 members of the company into a better understanding of gender diversity, gender-based violence and sexual harassment.

Beijing LGBT Center Assisted with KPMG’s First Activity on Gender Diversity

Beijing LGBT Center worked together with KPMG, carrying out its firstactivity on gender diversity in its Chinese Mainland branch office. The chief coordinator, Ren Naying from the Development Department, started the activity with interactive games, presenting gender diversity knowledge as well as thepresent condition of LGBT+ groups in China. The guest participant, Shen Qiangfrom the Development Department, raised several questions.

Invitation to Meet with the Director General of Economic and Global Issues at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Shen Qiang, head of the Development Department,was invited to participate in a luncheon with Menna Rawlings, Director General of Economic and Global Issues at the UK Foreign and Common wealth Office, and toex change opinions with other domestic organizations committed to focus on Diversity & Inclusion.

Co-host a Luncheon with Airbnb Aimed at Promoting Corporate Diversity.

Margaret Richardson is the head of global policy affairs at Airbnb American head quarters. During her visit to Beijing, the Center cooperated with the Airbnb Beijing office to hold a lunch discussion and we invited tens of fellows from various companies and international organizations.

Transgender Project Department

September 9th, 2019

9/9 Public Welfare Crowdfunding Completed Successfully.

With the strong support from our community fellows, this year we raised 257,875 yuan for the Center’s Transgender Project through 9/9 public welfare crowd funding. 7,019 donations have been made to the project. The Weibo topic #mysummer withtrans was created for this and the page view has already exceeded 10 million.

Volunteer Meeting

During the meeting, volunteers shared their reasons for volunteering at the Center, and communicated with the staff members from various departments on site, which boosted their understanding of the Center and its staff. Community Development Manager Seven shared the strategic planning of the Community Operation Department with participating volunteers. The follow-up work will be carried out according to the plan.

Various Offline Activities

On September 6th, Beijing LGBT Center successfully hosted the first Les Booze event at Chillbar in Beijing. The Center also organized several offline activities in the following days, such as American TV series courses, Yoga experience classes, shop exploring, board games, etc.

Resignationof the Department’s Assistant

The assistant of theMental Health Department resigned from the Center for personal reasons and will continue to serve community members as a volunteer. The former assistant hasbeen working for the Center since March, 2017 with earnestness and conscientiousness, striving from an intern to the co-assistant of the department and attained great improvement along the way.

Summaryof the Psychological Services in Septembe

Services provided by Mental Health Department were as follow: Face-to-face Counseling: 76 visits; Video Counseling: 18 visits; Group Counseling: 4 visits with 28 participants; Mentor ship group activities: 10 times with 87 participants. The department had received 211 visits in total by September 30th.

From September 1st to September 26th, the total amount of individual donations was 1539 yuan. List ofthe donators is as follow with names replaced by nicknames. Usages of donations with specific intentions will be announced in public, and the rest of them will be used for site operations.
