第二届天水摄影双年展邀请展由观看艺术空间作为策展机构策划，由德国、法国、美国、中国和香港等国家和地区的著名策展人组成策展团队，邀请了国内外85位知名艺术家的900余幅（组）作品参加展览。

View Art Space is the curatorial institution of the invitational exhibition unit of the Second Image of Silk Road-Tianshui Photography Biennale. A curatorial team has been set up by famous curators from Germany, France, the United States, China and Hong Kong. This exhibition invited 85 well-known artists at home and abroad more than 900 (set) works to attend.

“边界是一种虚幻的结构，仅存在于一个缺乏感知的世界里。”安塞姆·基弗，德国当代视觉艺术家说。

那些参加天水摄影双年展的人和未参加的人之间，那些喜欢摄影和不喜欢摄影的人们之间，存在边界。边界是什么？有一天，我们必须相信，边界会消失。艺术家致力于去废除它，还有那些热衷于边界的人们。我们喜欢天水摄影双年展。

BORDER

"Borders are illusory constructions that only serve to survive in a world devoid of a perceptible sense." Anselm Kiefer, contemporary German visual artist.

Borders, .. , confines, ...... , határvonal, boundary, grenze, grans, 边界 , raja, σ.νορο, gr.ns, hranice, ranh gi.i. In the Zulu language, "Umngcele", because even the Zulus, "People of Heaven", have borders. Borders between countries, states, men and women, blacks and whites, yellows. Borders between words, between those who speak and those who don't speak, between the living and the dead, Swaane Lauwaert. Between nationalism and internationalism, between madmen and wise men, flowers and stones. "Natural" borders, rivers, seas, mountains, "artificial", lines of demarcation, imaginary borders. Border in the suburban zones or suburbs of French provinces, Paul Grandsard. Border between big and small, fat and thin, sick and healthy. Between conceptual art and minimalist art, between birds, snakes, fish, ostriches and monkeys, mice and cats. Between rich and poor, those who have nothing, those who are all, those who eat and those who don't eat. Between Verlaine and Rimbaud , this two famous French poets, between the stars and the rain, between those who are driven out of their country by war or misery, those who wait along a border and those who are at home, Jeff Baecker. Those who have a roof, those who don't have one, and those who have water and those who don't. Border between heaven and earth, between day and night, between hot and cold. Clear border, blurred border, clear image, blurred image. In the same city, the same country, Frédéric Sautereau. Between those who love violets, their delicate perfume, and those who only offer tulips to their beloved ones, those who are afraid of ghosts and those who don't believe in them. Border between young and old, natural light or that's not, electricity and fire, Yohan Terraza. Border between dream and reality, true reality and false reality, lie and truth, dream and sleep, science and poetry. Between those who stutter and those who don't stutter, those who have horns on their feet and those who don’t. Those who work and those who can't. Border between "the intimate" and "the extimate", the public sphere,

the private sphere, Clara Chichin. Between caresses and brutality, between sweetness and violence, between love and hatred. Between those who know and those who don't know, those who go naked and those who go with ties. Those who love utopia and those who prefer the concrete, those who swear by Buddha or Muhammad, by Jesus or Jehovah. Border between those who love cinema and those who prefer painting, those who love deli meats and those who hate it, pigs before and pigs after, Manu Rouxel. 

Border between those who go to the Tianshui Biennial and those who don't go there, those who love photography and those who don't like it. What borders, borders, borders ! One day, we must believe it, the borders will disappear. Artists are working towards their abolition, those who love them too. We love the Tianshui Biennial.

雅克·戈伯( 法国)

雅克·戈伯是法国作家兼策展人。他出生并生活在巴黎。作为一名策展人，他曾在法国与巴黎的蓬皮杜中心、法国的其他重要文化机构、大皇宫、奥赛博物馆、法国电影协会等进行过广泛的合作。在国外，特别是在美国、俄罗斯和乌克兰，他都工作过。他在巴黎的新索邦大学教授美学和电影史，并担任戛纳国际电影节评选顾问。最后，他写了一些关于影像、电影、小说、传记的书和评论。

JACQUES GERBER (FRANCE)

Jacques Gerber is a French writer and curator. He was born in Paris where he lives. As a curator, he has worked extensively in France with the Center Georges Pompidou in Paris or other important cultural institutions in this country, the Grand Palais, the Musée d'Orsay, the Cinémathèque Française, etc. Abroad, he has worked in the United States, Russia and Ukraine in particular. He taught aesthetics and film history at the University of Sorbonne-Nouvelle in Paris and was Selection Coucellor for Cannes International Film Festival. Finally he wrote books, essays on the image or the cinema, novels, biographies.
