继日本之后,Blue Bottle Coffee小蓝瓶咖啡在韩国开了新店。新店位于首尔圣水洞,周围也分布了一些由旧仓库改造的手工咖啡店、有机餐厅等。

 

这是品牌在韩国的第一间门店,由Schemata Architects公司操刀设计。此前品牌在东京的几间分店也是Schemata Architects公司打造的。




新店共有三层,每一层都有不同的功能。考虑到街区拥挤的交通,品牌特别选择地下一层作为咖啡厅,为消费者提供了一个远离喧嚣、安静的用餐环境。

 

中间区域是一个巨大的不锈钢制餐品制作台,上方天花板有部分被打通,带来充足的自然光线。旁边还有商品陈列区,销售手工烘焙的咖啡豆;陈列台是用红砖堆砌的,富有复古工业气息。

 

一楼用作烘焙工坊和咖啡豆储藏室,整层楼采用落地窗的设计,非常通透,路过的行人也可以清楚看到咖啡的整个制作过程。二楼则用作职工办公室。

 

Blue Bottle Coffee于2002年在美国加州创立,日本是品牌第一个海外市场。

 

The sparsely-decorated cafe is situated in Seoul's artsy Seongsu neighbourhood, surrounded by craft coffee bars and organic eateries that occupy disused warehouses.

 

This is the first Blue Bottle Coffee cafe to appear in South Korea, but Schemata Architects has already designed several of the brand's Tokyo branches.

 

In the new three-floor Seongsu location, each level is dedicated to a different use. The cafe has been designated to the basement – a decision made by the practice after seeing that the ground floor overlooked a busy road often blocked with traffic.

 

"Having the cafe in the basement provides a calm and peaceful space away from the bustle on the ground," it explained.

 

At its centre is a huge stainless-steel service counter, above which a section of the ceiling has been cut away to provide views to the upper floor.

 

Large stacks of red bricks – a material typically used to clad the facades of buildings in Seongsu – have been dotted throughout the space, where brand merchandise like packets of coffee and mugs can be displayed.

 

The ground level plays host to a roastery, a storage room for coffee beans and an area dedicated to cupping: the practice of observing the taste and aroma of brewed coffee.

 

This whole floor is fronted by glass, allowing passersby on the street a glimpse at the brand's coffee-making process.

 

Upstairs on the second floor are offices for staff.

 

Blue Bottle Coffee was originally founded in 2002 in California. It isn't the only caffeine brand to opt for having pared-back cafes – % Arabica opened a branch in Hong Kong's Star Ferry terminal which features concrete surfaces and simple white high-tables where customers can stand and enjoy their drinks.




Shiseido to create Tory Burch beauty products

Global beauty firm Shiseido has entered into a long-term partnership to create and sell a range of Tory Burch beauty products.

 

Shiseido will have an exclusive worldwide license to develop, market, and distribute Tory Burch beauty products.

 

The agreement goes into effect on January 1 next year. The Tory Burch beauty products license will be managed by Shiseido Group’s Americas region headquartered in New York City.

 

Through the partnership, Shiseido will provide Tory Burch with a global platform and dedicated resources to elevate its beauty business, cultivating opportunities as a multi-platform, global lifestyle beauty brand.

 

For Shiseido, this partnership will expand its global fragrance portfolio and create further opportunities for collaboration.




Birkenstock opens exclusive showroom in Paris dedicated to its collaborations

The new Birkenstock showroom in Paris at Rue St.-Honoré occupies a 170 sqm. (1,830 sq.ft.) apartment on the first floor of a late 19th century building, and features an interior design by London-based design and architecture practice Vinson & Co. 


Comprising of several rooms, much of the showroom’s original architectural elements have been retained, but at the same time it has seen a full revamp.

 

Whitewashed walls, paneling and ceilings are paired with classic fishbone parquet flooring, and form the backdrop for a collection of carefully sourced European design pieces, including oak tables by Philipp Mainzer, Mario Bellini‘s cab chairs, 1950s-inspired Medeachairs by Vittorio Nobili, Tri Angle tools by Aldo Bakker, Cleft Oak benches by Simon Hasan, and Achille Castiglione‘s Lungangolo bookcase.

US based luxury accessories brand Mansur Gavriel has partnered with French Maison Ladurée to open up a café inside Mansur Gavriel’s Los Angeles retail store on Melrose Place.

 

Guests can choose to sit outdoors in the French-themed patio garden or indoors where the interiors are decorated with green walls and pink cushioned seats.

 

The dessert menu includes macarons and pastries, as well as a location-exclusive La Rose dessert made with a rose panna cotta and raspberry confit on top of a rose pound cake biscuit and completed with a white chocolate shell.

 

If you’re looking to stop in for brunch, savory selections include three types of avocado toast, omelets, club sandwiches and salads.




Pernod Ricard partners with Heinemann Australia

Pernod Ricard Travel Retail Pacific and Heinemann Australia have opened the Scotch Whisky Emporium at Sydney Airport. The new concept is “an immersive brand experience zone” that highlights Pernod Ricard’s blended Scotch whiskies.

 

Located in the T1 departures Heinemann Tax and Duty Free store, the store houses brands including Chivas Regal, Royal Salute and Ballantine’s, with a focus on new and high-value aged products.

 

The emporium features a tasting experience hosted by bilingual brand ambassadors, as well as digital screens that display distillery and blending processes to educate consumers on how each whisky is made.

 

The Emporium is the first multi-brand blended Scotch whisky zone of its kind in the travel retail sector globally for Pernod Ricard. To mark the opening on 13 August, a bespoke bottle engraver was on site to engrave all bottles purchased (with a value of A$80 and more) from the Chivas, Royal Salute and Ballantine’s ranges, at no extra charge.
