华南理工大学2024年英文宣传片（制作：国际交流与合作处）华南理工大学坚持放眼全球、开放合作，通过广泛联结全球优质办学和科技创新资源，不断提升学校的开放能力、融合能力和国际化办学水平，为建设具有全球影响力的“双一流”大学，有效服务国家和人类命运共同体的目标不懈努力。
目前，学校与全球200多所知名高校携手合作，加入近20个区域及国际大学联盟，构建了完善的全球合作网络；推出250多个海外学习项目，每年选派2000多学生赴海外学习，在北美和欧洲建有2个海外交流基地，建有一批国际化教学科研平台，开展形式多样、内容丰富的师生双向交流、人才联合培养及高水平科学研究。
学校全面建成广州国际校区，获批教育部首个粤港澳大湾区国际化教育改革试点，积极探索在地国际化教育，重点布局引领世界科技前沿、服务国家战略、孕育颠覆性技术变革的新工科交叉学科，为粤港澳大湾区培养新工科领军人才。

Situated in Guangzhou, the heartland of the dynamic Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, South China University of Technology is a prestigious research university renowned for engineering and coordinated multi-disciplinary development across science, engineering, and medicine.
在粤港澳大湾区的核心腹地，岭南名城——广州，有这样一所以工见长、理工医结合多学科协调发展的综合性研究型大学——华南理工大学。
With the mission of revitalizing the nation through industrial development, SCUT traces its roots back to Guangdong Provincial First-Class Industrial School established in 1918. Then in 1952 it officially reconstructed into South China Institute of Technology, one of the first four institutes of technology in China then. Recognized for its excellence, SCUT has been among the national Project 211, Project 985, and Double-First-Class universities. The university now encompasses three campuses within the same city.
以实业兴邦为使命，学校历史可追溯至1918年成立的广东省立第一甲种工业学校。1952年，正式组建华南工学院，是新中国“四大工学院”之一。学校先后入选“211工程”“985工程”高校，首批入选“双一流”建设A类高校。学校现有三个校区，形成了一校三区，同城办学的新格局。
Committed to being a world-class institution of higher learning, SCUT ranks among the top 400 in the four leading global university rankings, with food science and technology, polymer science being No.1 worldwide released by US News 2023. There are 14 disciplines rank top 1% of the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) Global Ranking, with engineering, materials science, chemistry, agricultural science, and computer science within the top 0.1%.
华南理工大学以创一流大学为己任。目前，学校已经成功进入四大排行榜前400强， 在US News 学科排名中，食品科学与技术、高分子科学两个学科位列世界第一。14个学科领域进入ESI全球排名前1%，其中，工程学、材料科学、化学、农业科学、计算机科学5个学科领域更是跻身全球排名前1‰。

The university is excellent in engineering innovation and has crafted a system of industry-academia-research collaborative innovation. The accomplishments have found widespread applications across an array of industries including architectural design, road and bridge constructions, marine engineering, communication engineering, energy and power, artificial intelligence, and etc.

The university takes the lead nationwide in patent transformation and utilization, being remarkable in high-value patents and their transfer.

The University keeps optimizing its “SCUT Model” of education, from that of Innovation, Invention and Entrepreneurship to the Emerging Engineering Education “Future” Scheme. Through its 5I Model of Interdisciplinary collaboration, Industry-academia-research cooperation, Internationalization at home, In-depth engineering learning, and Integration between undergraduate and graduate programs, the university nurtures outstanding and innovative talents in engineering and a batch of alumni have grown as the backbones in technology, business and government sectors. The university has been acclaimed as the “Cradle of Engineers”, the “Cradle of Entrepreneurs” and the "Whampoa Academy" in the new energy vehicle industry.

With its educational approach in line with international best practice, SCUT initiates a new model of “internationalization at home” at its Guangzhou International Campus. This integrates advanced global educational philosophies and premier resources to furnish students with an immersive international learning atmosphere. With a modernized academy system coupled with a full tutorial approach, SCUT is dedicated to cultivating talent with a comprehensive and global outlook, aiming for excellence in internationalized education.学校在广州国际校区推行“在地国际化”办学新范式，融合世界先进教育理念，引入全球优质教育资源，提供沉浸式国际化成长环境；实施“现代书院制+全员导师制”，全要素推进国际化人才培养，努力实现一流国际化教育。
With its International Campus, SCUT and partner universities have established reciprocal education facilities for systematic and sizable student exchanges. A notable example is the Rutgers Overseas Semester Experience (ROSE) program, through which SCUT hosted over 300 Chinese freshmen from Rutgers University during the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative involved curricular co-development, showcasing the effectiveness of internationalization at home. SCUT and Rutgers are working towards an enhanced version of the ROSE program in the future.
依托广州国际校区，学校和合作伙伴互设教育基地，开展系统性、规模性的学生双向交流，特别是和罗格斯大学在疫情期间合作推出ROSE项目，接受了300余名罗格斯学生在校学期制学习，实现课程深度共建，凸显在地国际化办学成效，两校还将推出ROSE2.0升级版。
