Incredible Instruments in Primary Music Classes

At the Yew Chung International School of Beijing, we believe that Music and the Performing Arts are critical to every child's learning journey. From the moment they enter our Early Childhood Education Programme and all the way through to Secondary School, a child is offered a myriad of opportunities to express their creativity that help to make the YCIS Beijing experience truly unique.

Our students in Primary School enjoy a varied music programme, which teaches singing, percussion, ukulele, and other smaller instruments. The programme seeks to engage students in creative explorations of music, which helps to build students' confidence and an appreciation for music. Our program draws on traditions and styles of music from all around the world. 

小学的学生享有丰富多彩的音乐教程，教程包括唱歌，打击乐器，吉他，以及其它小型乐器。课程目标是力图赋予学生创造性的音乐探索，这会帮助学生增强信心以及对音乐欣赏。我们的课程集传统以及全世界的音乐类型于一体。

As part of this mission, Year 4 students created their own instruments, called rain sticks, during a recent unit on the exploration of sound. The activity not only helped students to develop a greater appreciation for music, but also sparked their creativity during the creation and decoration process.

在最近的声音探索单元中，Year4 学生们完成了乐器的制作，起名字为‘雨棒’。这个活动在创作和装饰过程中不仅可以提高学生更深层的音乐鉴赏，而且能够激发他们的音乐创造性。
