Josh Perrett: IBDP and Beyond 国际文凭课程和未来

With the school year coming to a close we prepare to say goodbye to our Year 13 leavers. Josh Perrett, who has been at YCIS Beijing for four years, talks to us about the IBDP, his plans for next year, and what he’s going to miss most after graduating. 

这个学年即将结束，我们准备和13年级的毕业生告别了。 Josh Perrett已经在北京耀中国际学校四年了，他向我们介绍了国际文凭课程（IBDP），明年的计划以及他毕业后最想念的东西。

I’m Josh Perrett. My family is from the UK but I’ve spent my whole life in Beijing – I moved when I was just two months old! I’ve been at YCIS Beijing for four years and I’m graduating this summer.

我是Josh Perrett，来自英国，但我的一生都在北京度过—当我刚刚两个月大时，我就搬来了北京！我在北京耀中已经四年了，今年夏天毕业。

How have you found IBDP for the last two years? 

你过去两年学习IBDP有什么样的感受？

I’ve really enjoyed doing the IBDP. It’s been challenging at times but there are lots of advantages. 

For example it’s great that you can take six subjects. My main strengths are in the sciences and maths but I love Chinese and I was able to continue with that too. I was also able to study Economics for the first time which has been really stimulating.

我非常喜欢学习国际文凭课程。这套课程有很多的优点，有时候也有挑战性。例如，你可以参加六个科目，这点非常棒。我的主要优势在于科学和数学，但我爱中文，我也能继续这样学习。另外， 我还可以学习经济学，这真的令人兴奋。

What are your plans for next year?

你明年的计划是什么？

I have an offer to read Computer Science at Bristol in the UK. So I think it’s most likely I’ll be going there. I’ve never studied Computer Science, but my IBDP subjects have been tangentially related and I’ve taught myself some coding – it’s a real interest of mine.

我拿到了英国布里斯托大学计算机专业的录取通知书，我认为我很可能会去那里。我从来没有学过计算机，我的国际文凭课程也不太相关，我自学了编程，这是我真正的兴趣所在。
