Chinese New Year Round-Up! 春节庙会简报！
Last week YCIS Beijing hosted its Temple Fair and Beautiful China performances. Temple Fair was organised by our new Secondary Chinese Coordinator, Ms Amy Zhang, along with valuable contributions from our Secondary students and Chinese staff. The Beautiful China performances were an incredible feat – put together by the Chinese homeroom teachers in just a matter of weeks following the Christmas break.
上周，北京耀中举办了庙会活动和美丽中国表演。庙会是由我们的新任中学部中文主管张老师组织的，并且由我们的中学生和中国员工同心协力共同完成。美丽中国表演精彩震撼，是由中国教师仅在圣诞节假期后数周内编排的。
Running stalls at the Temple Fair gave our Upper Secondary students the opportunity to complete the ‘Service’ component of the IB Diploma’s CAS requirement. The stalls were designed by the Chinese department to promote traditional Chinese activities. Among them, lantern painting, knot making, traditional calligraphy, mask decorating and fan making.
庙会摊位为我们的高中学生提供了完成IB文凭CAS“服务”部分的机会。这些摊位由中文部设计，旨在推广中国传统活动，包括画灯笼、打中国结、传统书法、面具和扇子的制作。
The gym was filled with spectacular Chinese decorations made by our students. Entertainment was provided by traditional lion dances, our resident student band, and a special appearance from the God of Wealth Cáishén who handed out hóngbāo to the children.
体育馆里布满了我校学生制作的精美中式装饰。娱乐活动有传统的舞狮、我校学生乐队演奏，还有财神特别出场向孩子们分发红包。
Meanwhile, the Primary Beautiful China performances took place in the auditorium. They were a brilliant display of musical talent, choreography and costume. An education as well as a visual spectacle, these performances are an important opportunity for students to engage with traditional Chinese music and dance.
同时，小学部的美丽中国表演在礼堂举行。这是一场美妙的音乐、舞蹈和服装秀。这些表演既是教学的一部分，也是一种视觉享受，是学生参与中国传统音乐和舞蹈的好机会。
