What kind of working staff can apply for permanent residence? (Take Shanghai as the example)
哪类就业人员可以申请永久居留？（以上海为例）
1. Those who have worked in Shanghai continuously for 4 years;
已连续在上海工作满四年;
2. The annual salary income (before tax) exceeding RMB600,000, and have paid annual individual income tax exceeding RMB120,000;
四年内每年工资性收入（税前）超过60万元人民币，每年缴纳个人所得税超过12万元人民币;
3. Must stay in China mainland for no less than 6 months every year in this 4 years;
四年内每年在中国境内实际居住累计不少于6个月的外国人;
4. With the present employer's recommendation.
经现工作单位推荐。
Foreign people should meet the above four conditions at the same time, can apply for permanent residence in Shanghai, China.

Which documents will be required for permanent residence application?
就业人员申请永久居留需要提供什么材料？
1. Two copies of two-inch recent photos；
两寸近期证件照两张；
2. Valid passport and employment-typed residence permits issued in Shanghai for consecutively 4 years before this application；
有效护照和申请之日前连续四年在上海工作办理的工作类居留证件；
3. Income certificate of the last 4 years issued by employer(s)；
工作单位出具的最近四年工资证明；
4. Individual income tax clearance certificate issued by Shanghai taxation bureau documenting the last consecutive 4 years before this application；
上海税务机关出具的申请之日前连续四年缴纳个人所得税的完税证明；
5. Valid Working Permit (or Employment Permit, Foreign Expert Certificate) issued in Shanghai；
在上海办理的有效《外国人工作许可证》（或《外国人就业证》、《外国专家证》）；
6. Letter of recommendation issued by the present employer；
现工作单位出具的推荐函；
7. Employer's Business License (counterpart) or relevant registration certificate, and annual report, Certificate of Approval for Establishment of Enterprises with foreign investment or Receipt for the Establishment of Enterprises with foreign investment or Receipt for Change of Enterprises with foreign investment and online joint annual report；
工作单位《企业营业执照》副本或有关登记证明及近4年网上年度报告、《外商投资企业批准证书》或《外商投资企业设立备案回执》或《外商投资企业变更备案回执》；
8. A Health check certificate；
国内出入境检验检疫部门出具的健康证明；
9. A Criminal Record/ Background check which shows no trace or history of any kind must be verified by the Embassy/Consulate General of China.
经中国驻外使（领）馆认证的国外无犯罪记录证明原件。

A：No need. They can enter and leave China with a valid passport and permanent residence permit without having to apply for another valid visa.

A: It is necessary to provide additional naturalization certificate of current country and cancellation certificate of Chinese nationality.

工作时间如果中间断了一个月，会影响永居申请吗？
A：It is necessary to work in Shanghai continuously for 4 years, and the number of years should be calculated from the time after the interruption.
连续在上海工作满4年是必要条件，需要从中断后的时间从新开始计算年限。
Q5：Can the accompanying family members who have reached the age of 17 years old apply for permanent residence with the principal applicant?
已满17周岁的随行家属可以与主申请人一起申请外国人永久居留吗？
A：Unmarried children under 18 years old of the above applicants can apply for permanent residence together. Generally, there is a five-year validity period after the approval, which is subject to the approval time.
未满18周岁未婚子女可随同申请办理外国人永久居留。一般获批后有五年有效期，具体以获批时间为准。
