Hey, what's up everybody? It's Mr.Wong here, and here's a fun fact for you, ever wondered why people throw rice at weddings? Throwing rice at a newly married couple has been a tradition for thousands of years, possibly going back as far as the ancient Assyrians(亚述人) and Egyptians(埃及人). The idea is to give the newly weds good luck, fertility(生育能力), and abundance(充裕、丰裕) using this symbol of a good crop. On a side note, I don't think we have this tradition in China..or do we?

Let me know in the comment section below, but at least from where I come from, we don't throw rice at weddings because we know rice is really important to us, and for those of you who don't know, growing rice is really hard. Besides, do you know how many bowls of 扬州炒饭 I can make with the rice thrown at weddings? You couldn't even imagine! Haha alright, let's talk about the phrase of the day which is "think outside the box", let's check it out!
