Definition: To talk too proudly about your abilities, achievements, or possessions.

夸口、夸耀、吹嘘、吹牛

That guy likes to boast about he had 10 girlfriends before, but it’s obvious that he is lying.

那个人很喜欢吹牛说他以前曾经有10个女朋友，可是很明显他就是在撒谎呀。

He is boasting about how much money he has made.

他在吹嘘自己赚了多少多少钱。

brag (v.)

Definition: To talk too proudly about what you have done, what you own etc. = boast

The guy likes to brag about how rich his family is, but I think he is lying.

I mean, come on mate, why would you still work in our office if you are so rich? In English, 吹牛 is "blow cow", "blow cow". ←开玩笑的 

No, I am only joking. The proper way to say it involves the word “boast” and after using the word  "boast", you need to clarify it is a lie. So in our case, you can say, that guy likes to boast about he had 10 girlfriends before, but it’s obvious that he is lying. You could also substitute the word “boast” with the word “brag”. So you could say the guy likes to brag about how rich his family is, but I think he is lying.
