Real life example that happened to me before: I had a boss his name is Matthew, so in short, I used to call him either Matt or Matty, and he's a bit of a fat boy. So once, instead of saying "Matt, can I ask you a question?", I said, "Fat, can I ask you a question?" He looked at me and said, "Did you just call me fat? What was that? A Freudian slip?"
