山家小子牧山幽。

老村头。小河流。

青石河湾，好作赤条游。

卧痛杨荫浑不觉，河岸上，懒皮牛。

淋漓梦影晾沙洲。

柳风柔。葛花羞。

隐约河虫，咀嚼小河秋。

又见夕阳山里去，谁来照，捉鱼鸥？

蔡世平，知名词人、国家一级作家、中国作协会员。国务院参事室、中央文史研究馆中华诗词研究院原副院长、中国国学研究与交流中心特聘专家、中国当代诗词研究所所长、中国楹联学会顾问。主要作品集有：《南园词》《南园词二百首》《21世纪新锐吟家诗词编年》《南园楹联》《大漠兵谣》《中华诗词现代化散论》。

A Shadow Clear in the Creek

A boy tends his herds on the serene hill,

The old vill looks still,

The rill seems to trill.

The bluestone pool suits him;

Why not strip for a naked swim?

He’s o’erslept in the shade, he doesn’t know;

On the bank there lies

A lazy buffalo.

O’er the shoal looms the shadow of a dream.

Willow wind does soft seem;

Kudzu flowers shyly beam.

Earthworms wriggle, lo,

To chew the autumn of the flow.

Beyond the mountains the sun will soon set;

Who’ll give me light so

Fish and gulls I’ll get?
