The last section of the railway linking Jinan in Shandong and Puyang  in Henan opened on Dec 8, marking the full completion of the high-speed railway connecting Jinan and Zhengzhou, the capital cities of Shandong and Henan provinces. The high-speed railway will reduce travel time between Jinan and Zhengzhou, according to the China State Railway Group, the national railway operator.

12月8日，济南至郑州高速铁路济南至濮阳段建成通车，标志着济郑高铁全线贯通运营。济郑高铁构建起山东半岛与中原及西部地区联系的快速客运通道，将极大便利沿线群众出行。

The 407 kilometer-Jinan-Zhengzhou High-Speed Railway, with a design speed of 350 km/h, reduces travel time between the two capitals to 103 minutes.

济郑高铁全长407公里，设计时速350公里。从济南西站至郑州东站最快1小时43分钟可达，山东半岛城市群与中原城市群时空距离进一步压缩。

It is also the first high-speed railway linking Liaocheng, a city in Shandong with abundant historic and cultural resources, to other cities.

据悉，济郑高铁的开通也让山东省内著名的历史文化名城——聊城首次接入国家高铁网络。

The section between Puyang and Zhengzhou opened commercially in June, last year.

济郑高铁濮阳至郑州段已于2022年6月开通运营。

The Jinan-Zhengzhou High-Speed Railway, linking Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway and Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, is expected to be an important connection line of the national railway network.

济郑高铁东接京沪高铁、西连京广高铁，是国家“八纵八横”高铁网的重要连接线。

After the line's opening, it aims to improve the regional railway network and facilitate the travel of people along the line, promoting the high-quality development of regional economy and society.

济郑高铁全线贯通运营后，将进一步完善区域路网结构，便利沿线人民群众出行，实现山东半岛城市群与中原城市群互联互通，对于推动黄河流域生态保护，促进区域经济社会高质量发展，具有十分重要的意义。
