习近平抵达香港在机场对媒体发表讲话

Hello, friends in the media.

今天香港的天气还是挺热的，你们在这里等候，辛苦了，谢谢大家！请你们转达我对香港广大市民的诚挚问候和良好祝愿。

I feel the weather in Hong Kong today is rather hot. You’ve had a hard job waiting here. Thanks everyone. Please convey my sinceregreetings and well wishes to Hong Kong people.

时隔九年，我再一次踏上香港这片土地，感到很高兴。香港一直牵动着我的心。再过两天，就是香港回归祖国二十周年。这无论是对国家还是对香港都是一件大事、喜事。

After nine years, I’m so glad to be here stepping on HongKong’s soil again. Hong Kong has always been in my heart. In two days, it willbe the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland. This is asignificant event and a happy occasion for the country as well as for HongKong.

我和中央代表团这一次访港，此行主要是三个目的：

The central government’s delegation and I have come toHong Kong for three purposes.

一是表示祝福，热烈祝贺香港特别行政区成立二十周年取得的巨大成就，衷心祝愿香港再创辉煌；

First, we convey our good wishes and congratulations onthe great achievements attained by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Regionin its 20th anniversary of establishment. We wholeheartedly wish Hong Kong willcreate an even brighter future.

二是体现支持，二十年来，中央一直是香港的坚强后盾，中央将一如既往地支持香港发展、改善民生；

Second, we want to demonstrate our support. For 20 years,the central government has always given Hong Kong the strongest backing. Thecentral government will continue to support the development of Hong Kong andits work on improving people’s livelihood.

三是谋划未来，我们愿同香港各界一道回顾香港二十年来不平凡的历程，总结经验、展望未来，确保“一国两制”行稳致远。

Third, we are to map out the future. With all sectors ofthe society, we wish to look back at Hong Kong’s extraordinary journey in thepast 20 years. Together, we sum up our experience and look forward to thefuture, to ensure “one country, two systems” will remain stable in the longrun.

我期待着接下来亲身感受香港这些年发展的新气象、新变化。我相信通过在港的一系列活动，一定会增强我们发展香港、建设香港的信心。

I look forward to feeling the new mood and changes inHong Kong after the developments all these years. I believe the series ofactivities here in Hong Kong will definitely strengthen our confidence indeveloping and building Hong Kong.
