Yi He [Chonqing]
An Exile (and other two poems)
I want to run
with the fascinating leopard print of my body vibrating
Who is the hold of the mountain?
When there are shimmering clouds, downwards slopes and streams
The young summer comes in hurry
what else do I need is pacing down, slowly tell the flash and the thunderstorm
Those in the past as well as today
The melting snow, and tomorrow continues to be the forgiveness of sorrow
Whatever, my hoof prints must be imprinted
on the waste paper of the dim and dark time
Among the Mountains
With a smooth heart, I do
not care the steepness at the edge of cliffs, or imagine
nothing about what twist and turn in the brooks
Hearing the sound of waterfalls, and then the falls of pine cones
a slight shaking, quietly, arises in my heart
No more light of the setting sun from me,
as long as the drum sound from the ancient temple is in a running
My own voice drifts back into my ears — “Be habituated to wake up with tranquility,
while having a dream with nihility”
Oh, if a green morning of spring was lost
do not lose the gold dusk
All I wish is running a store,
inside the canyon, without
hoarding up tigers’ growls, or sharing bears’ pawns
merely, what I sell is
the sound of steps of wild cats
The Edge of A River
A river bed drains off, leaving it bone dry,
form here nothing can cease the eye contacts across the river
between you and me
Loneliness cries as cicadas scattering around on river sides
Tonight, the words with wind and rain traverse sleeplessly
A no-ones island free from gates cannot be opened
The wine has been drunk off, but
Loneliness stays because there is no way to detach it
Each individual is seeking the own circle apiece
The edge of a river emerges from the black-and-white diagram
Who are separated by the river stand face to face, when
time is fleeting.
Could they find the only light hiding in the thousands of reasons?
