Zeng Qingwen [China]
Sitting Alone by the River
Sitting alone by the river
I do not meander but a myriad of thoughts fill my mind
The night of the Jialing River is dark and the moon wants to shine
Occasionally to sprinkle star-like reveries
When the light surges up
A turbulent ship is longing for the lamp
Steering oars and looking back
Rows upon rows of houses in the city are like my undulating feelings
Takeaway the disorderly wind
Leave behind the idea on the verge of expression
Sitting on a Bright Stone to Think of Rivers
Sitting on a bright stone
To think of rivers
Thinking afar to know it is remote
Thinking of the sun and the moon and hills and rills to toss and turn
Thinking of the clear sky thick with epigrams and thin like a drizzle
Lingering mist on the bright stone
Here and there and nowhere
Sometimes in the fermentation of happiness
When thin only bits of barren
Are left behind
Intending to shine by the sun
To write on the bright stone warmth and strength and detachment
With the telling power to deepen into the grass and dust
The earthworm crawling
Leaving embryo traces
Again in the teeth of the storm the force remains
Hold the tide to flow gently, give up lingering and tangling
Be low and be modest
Its bright stone
Along with the small stream
Slow in coming and fast in going
The anchor fails
To change the direction of the riverbed and all the bounces
Rushing left and right
The bright stone in the gap oblique
To find vastness
Sitting on the bright stone to think of the running water
A heart through the river
Fragments of Life (Part 1)
Cold dew and grass are making fun
The wind intersperses it with its dancing
Leisurely clouds and leisurely water
As well as leisurely reverie
We gaze at the sky at the mountain and have
Seen the best evening glow of the sun
And butterflies are flying sideways
Mutually wordless
Immerse My Heart in the River
Immerse my heart in the river without freezing in winter
Frost-proof in autumn
The scorching summer for the flames of the burning sun
To be silent in the bottom of the waves
Only a single spring raindrop is adequate to immerse my heart in the river
The fish breaks through the whirlpool while flying
Regardless of the height and the depth, a peach petal
Seems to see a confidant
The swelling feeling of instant noodle
The four contracted seasons
The quiet loneliness
The night sinking down
My heart is immersed in the river
Flowing carelessly
Like juice in the blood vessel which runs deeper
Someone sitting on the moon, my heart is higher than the sky
Life like the river
The Leisure in Chengdu
The Chengdu plain witnesses a kind of leisurely
Like the wind from a cattail leaf fan
Fanning over the face
Like the Broad and Narrow Alley
Now broad and then narrow
Now narrow and then broad
The covered bowl tea is brimming with fragrance and melancholy
Time is free and carefree
To enter the house
Gently past the mahjong sound
There is a window framing snow through thousands of years
A white blossom of cloud
Is wafting here
The water of Jinjiang River is clothes-like
Bathed in hibiscus fragrance
A night snack in a company
The half moon hanging against Emei Mountain
Reflected in the poetry and painting, like the drizzle
To moisten the silent lingering
Inspired at Ants Migrating
Smallness matters little
Small as it is, it is bigger than a grain of sand, encouraged to open the sky
To find a gap of flying clouds
Small as it is, it can trudge slowly
To keep a lonely heart
Filled with emotion
Like paracecium amauensis
Each with its own mission
Keep small, not admiring the height of mountain and the length of water
Bosoming the thunder a little
In the quiet soul to become the eye of light
A lifetime of life is worthy of a lifetime of death
Death is smaller than life
A Monument Set Up for Two
Two never wants to compete for one
And unwilling to stamp on three
It likes for one plus one is two
Thousand miles of clear sky
Only two slowly matching clouds
And spring river hibiscus flowers in pairs
When the water is warm
Two ducks are the prophets
A pair of lovers walk side by side
A line of mandarin ducks in pairs for love
Why independent resentment
A monument set up for two
One and three are never against it
Langmu Temple Before Me
Apart from the pure white snow
Apart from the cold which fails to be covered up
Canyons and rivers the temples and the believers
Are slowly moving
Ethereal and distant as Lucerne
The mountain is shaped like the cap of a monk
Tinctured with Brahma and holy piety
How much Zen in it
Sunning Buddha in the first lunar month
Buddha is stirred with the idea the sun is sprinkling
Further backward
Gesang flowers besprinkling the season
The wind hangs between
Buddha and nature
Cut a Slice of Time
Cut a slice of time and set it apart
There are busy seconds
The thunder to temper fine rain like mist
Willows in spring red leading the way followed by green
The figs give their flowers
The sky is blue to drown loneliness the clouds are white like yearning
The wind is calling for the garden move quickly here
The water together
Flashing
Yet without seeing the cancer cells and broken bones
Through the slice of time
Seeable is the puzzle
Is the short distance and the backward time
When I am moving forward
In Du Fu Thatched Cottage
Recalling the fading prosperity, forlorn, forsaken
You are walking through the bitter waves and autumn wind
Recalling the low shabby hut, shaky
The long night, trembling hands
Recalling the west side of the Wanli Bridge is eating away the clear sky
North of the Flowery Pool, flowers are weeping
Recalling you for your homeless wandering, all gentility
Bosoming age-old poetry and love & hatred, head held high to sigh
The thatched cottage fails to stop pain
You lead a thin horse of the Tang dynasty, lingering and loitering
