李赟聪: 种一棵树最好的时机是十年前, 其次是当下
My UNNC Story
Yuncong Li had been studying Finance, Accounting and Management at Nottingham University Business School China. For the past four years at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, he has achieved great results in academia, social practice and other areas like receiving the Provost's Scholarship for two consecutive years. Consequently, his resume features rich experience in practice and projects, allowing him to receive postgraduate offers from the London School of Economics and Political Science and Imperial College London.

宁诺四年，李赟聪在学业、社交、实践等多方面均衡发展: 绩点3.95/4.00，连续两年荣获省政府奖学金和执行校长奖学金，简历上丰富的实践与项目经历，斩获伦敦政治经济学院和帝国理工学院offer……参加完毕业典礼之后，李赟聪将从宁诺重新出发，继续去探索更多的可能性。
学习：我的四年规划
回顾自己在宁诺的四年，李赟聪坦言有收获和喜悦，也有煎熬与迷惘。
大一阶段，李赟聪把重点放在语言和校园生活上，在享受宁诺英语语言教学中心强调互动的小班授课的同时，也积极参与并组织面向国际生的各类跨文化交流活动，以获得更多的语言锻炼机会。

现在回过头来看，李赟聪认为，从申请的角度来说，在大一其实就可以尝试去准备GMAT或者GRE这类考试。因为除了一些项目的硬性门槛，在准备与学习的过程中，不论是逻辑思维还是语言能力都会获得显著提升，对后续更高层级的课程学习也很有帮助。
“这类考试可以提早准备”，他说获得满意的分数是一个磨练心性的过程，“我个人GMAT考了三次，当时是在大四上学期，一边申研一边准备考试，压力真的很大，幸运的是最后考到了730分（96%）。”
相比大一，李赟聪认为在大二时可以更注重实践，尤其是商科生，“我们学校的诺丁汉卓越奖课程就是一个非常好的机会，我就参加了两个项目——冯昍老师组织的全球导师项目和X-Culture咨询项目。这些实践项目不仅让我有机会探索职业发展的方向和接触真实的商业环境，更为可贵的是结识了很多非常优秀的同学、校友与老师。这对我而言是无比宝贵的财富。”

与国内其他大学不同的是，宁诺采用英式的课程设置，李赟聪坦言大三和大四是最为辛苦的两个学年，课业非常重。尤其是大三，“因为申研时，英联邦的大学特别看重大三的成绩”，所以大三最重要的就是提高成绩，尤其是申研项目的核心课程。
“如果是申请美国大学的话，看的则是加权平均的数据，大一大二的成绩也就相对重要了。当然这还与申请的专业有关系，比如如果是对量化背景要求高的专业，量化编程类课程的成绩就会更重要一些。”

大四阶段，宁诺学生不仅学习压力大，而且大四上学期还要面对申研、更高难度的课程以及准备各种考试的压力，李赟聪的建议是“多做沟通，少做比较，一定要稳住心态，把握好自己的方向和节奏。”
实习：知识应用实践，探索职业方向
李赟聪很早就开始积极寻找实习机会。大一暑假，他去了一家外资汽车行业公司实习。之后两年，他在四大会计师事务所和券商投行部都留下过自己的身影，参与并接触过包括IPO、公司债、绿色债、资产支持债券等金融市场产品与发行项目，目前也在继续实习担任IPO咨询和行业研究助理。
多段实习经历为李赟聪提供了在真实职业环境学习的机会，更帮助他不断探寻适合自己的职业发展方向，“实习也是一个非常好的排雷过程，有些岗位真切体会过了才会知道是否适合自己。”
对于如何在当下竞争激烈的环境下找到实习的问题，李赟聪给出了两个答案。
第一是海投。海投从概率论角度来说增加了基数，扩大了机会范围，也就一定程度增加了找到实习的可能性，方便更好地比较和选择。
第二是利用身边一切可能的关系资源。李赟聪认为，不论是学长学姐的校友资源，还是家庭提供的帮助，对找工作实习而言都是非常有价值的资产。
“在寻找实习机会时，要利用好身边的各种资源，这没有必要避讳，以诚实和谦逊的态度对待就好。尤其是商科生，因为商业说到底就是要利用资源，并对资源进行更好的配置整合。”
成长：抗压能力与心态建设
在结束本科学习生涯之后，李赟聪选择前往伦敦继续深造。被问到大学四年都有哪些变化，李赟聪提到的第一点就是抗压能力变强了，“在大学过程中经常会遇到多件事情集中的情况，即将要上交的的小组作业、课外实践的项目、社团活动的任务……这些事情焦头烂额地碰撞一起的时候，良好的抗压能力可以让人更加从容的完成这一切。”
“宁诺这种更注重综合素质培养的教育模式带给我的是逐渐成熟的抗压能力，而多元课程的设置需要我们去和不同的人合作，培养了我们与人打交道的能力，对商科来说，沟通表达能力是非常重要的。”
“另一个很重要的方面是相比其他国内大学来说，宁诺的学生可能更加敢说一些，我们勇于表达自己的想法，不害怕犯错误和失败。”
抗压能力和沟通能力变强，交际圈扩展，综合素养的提升，都是李赟聪在宁诺四年的宝贵收获。一路走来，李赟聪也表示很幸运能遇到很多很棒的老师与同学，比如他的个人导师Eric Evans Osei Opoku和推荐人宋会敏老师。
“申研的时候刚好赶上学校疫情，两位老师自己也受疫情影响，生活和教学节奏被打乱，但他们还是第一时间帮我递交了推荐信，让我顺利完成申请。”
最后，李赟聪特别强调了心理建设的重要性：“在当下信息爆炸以及竞争激烈的社会下，很多人会不自觉的把自己和别人进行比较，容易陷入自我怀疑的状态，我也一度给自己太大的压力，来成为根本不是自己的别人，但其实，每个人都是独特的个人，每个人的时间线和规划也都不同，漫漫人生长路，起步早的也不一定会跑的更远，起步慢的也有可能弯道超车，心态上关注的应该是自身。”
“种一棵树最好的时机是十年前，其次是当下。”回望过去的四年大学生活，李赟聪现在坚信：只要心里有信念，没有时间的差距，什么时候开始都可以。

Yuncong Li had been studying Finance, Accounting and Management at Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China). For the past four years at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), he has achieved great results in academia, social practice and other areas like receiving the Provost's Scholarship for two consecutive years. Looking back on his four years at UNNC, Yuncong admitted that although there was suffering and confusion, there was also a lot of rewards and joyful times.
In his first year, Yuncong focused on learning English and campus life. While enjoying the interactive and small-class teaching at the Centre for English Language Education (CELE), he actively participated in and organised various cross-cultural exchange activities for international students to open up more opportunities for language learning.
Compared to his first year, Yuncong felt that in his second year, he could pay more attention to practice which is especially important for business students. He explained, "The Nottingham Advantage Award (NAA) is a great opportunity for us, and I participated in two programmes: the Global Mentorship Programme and X-Culture Programme. These programmes not only allowed me to explore pathways for career development and be exposed to real business environments, but they also made me meet many outstanding classmates, alumni and mentors. This has been an invaluable asset for me as I have both the dedicated guidance of my predecessors and the mutual support of my peers as I move forward, allowing me to grow quickly and confidently.”
Yuncong started looking for internship opportunities very early on. During the summer vacation of his first year, he interned at a foreign automotive industry company. In the next two years, he left his footprint in well-known accounting firms and an investment banking department of a securities firm. He was involved in financial market products and issuance projects, including IPO, corporate bonds, green bonds and asset-backed bonds, and currently continues to practice as an IPO consulting and industry research assistant.
Multiple internship experiences have provided Yuncong with the opportunity to learn in a real professional environment and helped him to continuously explore career directions that are best suited to him. He said, "Internships are a very good exploration process and some positions you will only know if they are suitable after experiencing them."
After finishing his undergraduate degree, Yuncong chose to continue his studies in London. When asked about the changes that have taken place during his four years at the UNNC, Yuncong explained that his resilience to stress has become stronger. He said, "The education model focuses more on cultivating one's comprehensive quality in UNNC which has gradually given me more resilience to stress. Also, the curriculum requires us to cooperate with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultivating our ability to interact well with different people. In business, communication skills and expressing yourself are very important when speaking with various audiences."
"Another important aspect is that compared to other domestic universities, students in UNNC may be more brave in speaking up. We are brave enough to express our ideas and are not afraid of making mistakes and failures."
Finally, Yuncong particularly emphasised the importance of one's psychological makeup: "With the information explosion and fierce competition in present society, many people unconsciously compare themselves with others, easily falling into a state of self-doubt. I also put too much pressure on myself to become someone who I am not. But in fact, everyone is a unique individual, and their development timelines and plans are also different. Life is a long journey, and those who start early may not necessarily end up further. Those who start slowly may in the end overtake others on the curves of life, as their mentality focuses on developing themselves.
