看《小妇人》学地道英语口语！
最近看了《小妇人》。
罗南的演技真的太棒了。甜茶一贯丧丧的帅。
电影画面犹如油画。美好的人物、美好的故事、皆大欢喜的结局...让人不由得希望生活如果能似电影一样，该多好啊！
电影中对于女性的讨论也很值得思考。
“Women have minds and souls as well as just hearts, and they’ve got ambition and talent as well as just beauty. And I’m sick of people saying that love is all a woman is fit for. I’m so sick of it! But – I’m so lonely!”

亲戚、邻居家小孩子好久没见到了，一见面发现ta长大了好多啊！
想表达“都长这么高（大）了！” 你可以像电影里这么说：
You've grown so much!
You've grown so big!
Look how you've grown!

饿死我啦！
想说“我好饿”，除了hungry外还可以怎么说？
电影里提到两种说法：
I'm starving.
I'm famished.
下次表达“饿”，可别只会说hungry啦！

fuss and feathers
见到fuss这个词，是否立即想起另一个词链儿 make a fuss?
make a fuss表示“大吵大闹”、小题大做、闹出好大的动静。
I didn't want to make a fuss, so I decided to ignore it.
我不想小题大做，所以我决定只当没看见算了。
大吵大闹、羽毛乱飞——这是得多高调啊！
因此fuss and feathers专门用来形容大吹大擂的高级排场。
Oh please, don't throw me a dinner party—who needs that kind of fuss and feathers?
拜托，别为了办什么晚宴啦！谁想看那种高调的排场呀！

be on fire 的字面意思是着火。
如果形容人on fire，则是在说ta精力旺盛、状态不错。
大家听过那首歌吗？This girl is on fire. ——可别翻译成这女孩上火了哦...
电影中男主角对罗南说You're on fire. 罗南还当他是在夸奖她，回应了一句“谢谢”。没想到其实是她倚靠在壁炉边写东西，没注意到火烧到了裙子。这回可是真的on fire了！

前面阐述了一件事后，补上这么个小词链儿，其实就是对刚刚自己说的话胸有成竹。“你且等看着吧，ta不XX才怪呢！”

这里的play不能理解为“玩”哦！

let XX get the better of me 让XX这件不好的东西赢过我、打败我、占我的上风。
这个词链儿中的better可跟“好”没什么关系，而应该理解为“胜过”、“赢过”。

我不想让自己受到情感的左右。

second to somebody
second是第二。后面如果跟人，在某个人后面，也就是仅次于某人、比不上某人。
再思考一下，如果后面跟的是none呢？仅次于零、不次于任何人，也就是最好的了——second to none 首屈一指。
In the output of grain, China is second to none.
在粮食产量上，中国首屈一指。

to have a heart to heart(talk) 心贴心的聊了一场——这个词链儿表示与某人交心谈话。
talk可以省略，或用chat、discussion、conversation来代替。
to have a heart to heart chat/discussion/conversation
I had a heart-to-heart talk with my father before I went off to college.
我去上大学之前，和我爸进行了一场交心的谈话。
Son, you and I have to sit down and have a heart to heart talk about your school grades.
儿子，我们必须要好好谈谈你的学习成绩了。
