Display system
Job Summary
Apple designs consumer electronics that have touched millions and changed the way people interact with electronic devices around the world. We play a key role in keeping up the quality standards at Apple and making sure that our customers are happy with the quality and experience of the hardware that they use.
The Display Systems team is looking for a quality-minded engineer who will be involved in the development of instrumentation for carry out calibration & performance validation for the latest Display technology.
Responsibilities
You will be working with a team of engineers to prototype and validate display test instrumentation. This involves scientific characterization of optical systems, bring-up fixture and perform design of experiments, image analysis and delivery of technical reports. The contributions in technical assessments will lead to strategic decisions relating to technology and investments.
Key Qualifications
• Fundamental knowledge in optical instrumentation, system analysis and design
• Knowledge of geometrical optics, illumination and imaging system, and/or color science
• Proficiency in mass data analysis using Matlab/JMP and programming skills in either Matlab/Python/C++/Objective C
• Experience with display optics, image processing, digital/analog circuit, test fixture design/validation preferred
• Some experience in optical design, using Zemax a plus
• Demonstrated ability to use analytical thinking and systematic method to conduct investigation for problem solving
• Excellent project management, written and verbal communication and teamwork skills required
• Hands-on experience with hardware and software integration, for prototype/mockups demonstration and engineering sample characterization
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; clear communication with cross-functional teams.
Education
Bachelor in science and technology field is required. Masters/Ph.D. in EE/CM/CS/ Physics is preferred.

The Inductive Charging Systems team is looking for a quality-minded engineer who will be involved in the development of instrumentation for electromagnetics to carry out calibration & performance validation of wireless charging systems.
Responsibilities
You will be working with a team of engineers to prototype and validate wireless charging test instruments. This involves scientific characterization of electrical systems using electromagnetic theories, bring-up fixture and perform design of experiments, and delivery of technical reports. The contributions in technical assessments will lead to strategic decisions relating to technology and investments.
Key Qualifications
▪︎ Strong electrical engineering background in electromagnetism, analog and mixed-signal design, in particular in the areas of high precision low-power design and board-level circuits.
▪︎ Knowledge about wireless charging standards such as Qi.
▪︎ Solid understanding of signals and systems, in particular noise performances of a system.
▪︎ Experiences in PCB design, signal integrity assessment and debugging is preferred.
▪︎ Knowledge wireless charging electronics architecture, circuits for both transmitters and receivers.
▪︎ Knowledge of Tx/Rx coil designs, transformer designs and modeling.
▪︎ Experiences with simulation tools such as LTSpice and MATLAB.
▪︎ Experience with digital hardware design such as micro-controllers and digital interfaces (such as I2C, SPI, SPMI, etc)
▪︎ Familiarity with power architectures and topologies; experience in power supply designs (DC-DC, AC-DC, DC-AC) is a plus.
▪︎ EE fundamentals, knowledge with hardware automation and motion control, debugging or designing electrical circuitry.
▪︎ Experience in failure analysis, root cause & porrective action proposal is a plus
▪︎ Excellent written and oral communication skills; clear communication with cross-functional teams.
▪︎ Great attitude towards stepping into uncharted technology space and work hard to deliver solutions in a timely fashion.
Education
Bachelor in science and technology field is required. Masters/Ph.D. in EE/CM/CS/Physics is preferred.
Test system
Job Summary
The system design engineer will be in charge of developing customized test instruments and complete test systems to test the electrical performance of Apple products. The ideal candidate is an EE with good scripting skills, and most of all, enjoys shipping a working system instead of designs on paper.
• Design, troubleshoot and debug electrical functional test equipment such as low noise audio signal digitizer, precise current meter, high speed switcher, efficient and fast power supply, etc
• Prototype HW test systems for consumer electronics. Propose, review and implement validation plans.
• Circuit analysis and simulation
• Provide guidance to PCB layout
• Data analysis
• Create and maintain functional test plans, trouble shoot test plan implementation
• Manage suppliers/manufacturing parters/test development schedule
Requirements
• BS/MS EE
• Have design experiences in some of these areas: audio circuit, linear and/or switching power supply, high speed signal integrity, USB3/DisplayPort/HDMI/MIPI, high precision ADC, ARM based MCU system programming
• Must have hands-on experience with bench equipments such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMM, electronic loads
• Must be flexible and capable of handling multi-task op
Preferred Experience
• Scripting language (Python, Perl etc.)
• Embedded system programming
• FPGA development
