这一届的毕业典礼好像有点硬核
今年由于疫情的原因，很多学校的毕业典礼无法在线下召开，于是有的就直接取消了毕业典礼，这难免成为一些同学的遗憾。
但是，就有一些硬核的学校不忍心让同学们错过这一重要时刻，于是各显神通，一些打死也想不到的毕业典礼就这样诞生了，原来毕业典礼还可以这样开。
首先出场的是机器人代表队，看他们挺拔的身姿、形如鬼魅的步伐，正雄赳赳、慢吞吞地朝我们走来。
这个代表队国际化程度很高，除了有来自中国的，还有日本的，

可以指“神灵的化身”，也可以表示“游戏等网络虚拟场景里的化身”，在文中就表示化身成毕业生的机器人。不过这个词最能让大家想起来的应该是电影《阿凡达》吧，毕竟正是这个作品开创了3D影视的先河。

表示“股份”（a number of shares that sb has in a company），这里Holdings表示holding company 控股公司。顺便讲一讲几个表示公司的单词。
company 通常缩写为Co.
corporation通常缩写为Corp.
incorporation通常缩写为Inc.
还有美国的，

除了作名词表示“接力赛”，还可作动词表示“转播、转告、转发”。如，

接下来出场的是萌物代表队，可爱的他们正欢乐放肆地走来。
中国传媒大学数字媒体艺术系的老师同学们耗时一个月左右的时间，在游戏《Minecraft》(《我的世界》,craft可以作名词表示“手艺、工艺”)中完整复原出中国传媒大学校园及毕业典礼现场的全貌，让毕业生们可以在像素风的虚拟校园里体验“云毕业”。
美国的加州大学伯克利分校（University of California, Berkeley）也在Minecraft上举办了毕业典礼，顺便还办了个音乐会。超过一百名Berkeley的学生共同在游戏里面还原了学校的建筑，还给这个像素风的校园起名为Blockeley University。因为游戏里是用各种方块block来搭建场景的，同时为了凸显出这个校园是还原Berkeley的，所以取了Blockeley这个名字。人家还有自己的官方网站呢，看来要准备招生了。
当看到Blockeley University的校园时，我真的被它的美丽震撼到了。

作形容词表示“模仿的；模拟的”，如：a mock interview/examination 模拟面试/考试。与文中的virtual有相近的意思“模拟的，虚拟的”，如：Virtual Reality 虚拟现实。
可以表示“开始”，也可以表示“毕业典礼”。如，
All applicants should be at least 16 years of age at the commencement of this course.
所有申请人在本课程开始时应至少年满16岁。

Pomp and Circumstance指的是一首进行曲，美国学校的毕业典礼上都会放这首曲子。文中后面提到的Hail to California是加州大学的校歌。但其实Pomp and Circumstance也可以作为一个固定搭配，表示“隆重的仪式”（formal and impressive ceremony）。pomp是名词，表示“排场，盛况”（the impressive clothes, decorations, music, etc. and traditional customs that are part of an official occasion or ceremony）。circumstance也是名词，表示“条件、环境、状况”（the conditions and facts that are connected with and affect a situation）。这两个词用在一起就是强调场面的隆重、盛大。
“授予”（to give sb an award, a university degree or a particular honour or right），confer sth on/upon sb 授予...给...。如，
An honorary degree was conferred on him by Oxford University in 2001.
牛津大学于 2001 年授予他荣誉学位。
confer还可以表示“协商、商议”，confer with sb on/about sth 与...商议...。
