I want to see the tennis racquet before I agree to the price. I don’t intend to buy a pig in a poke.

我要先看网球拍才同意价钱，我可不想瞎买东西。

Both his last two cars have broken down and the man from the garage says they're not worth repairing—he always seems to buy a pig in a poke and never learns from his mistakes.

他的前辆车都已经坏了，汽车修理厂的工人说它们不值得一修——他总是不看清货色就买，而且从不吸取教训。

过阔绰舒适的生活，养尊处优

They lived high off the hog for several years until they had no more money.

Mr Harris wasn't really rich, but his family always ate high on the hog.

I won’t waste good advice on John anymore because he never listens to it. I won't cast pearls before swine.

我不再好言劝约翰了，因为他从来不听，我不必对牛弹琴。

【注】语出《圣经•马太福音》第7章第6节：Give not that which is holy unto dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet，and turn again and rend you.（不要把圣物给狗，也不要把你的珍珠丢在猪前，恐怕猪践踏了珍珠，转过来咬你们。）
