面对一张白纸的可能性 |刘家冬作品讨论会ArtistTalk

2019年9月7日，本周六，工作室画廊_画廊空间将开展以“艺术中的流动性”为主题的艺术家现场作品分享会。届时大家可以深入了解艺术家刘家冬的近期创作以及围绕展览《驻地艺术》中的作品所展开的讨论。

在《驻地艺术》展览即将闭幕之际，我们决定用一位艺术家的个案，深度地呈现与回应这个展览。我们请来曾经驻地的艺术家刘家冬，为大家分享驻地结束之后，近几个月以来他的创作进展和变化。

每一次的驻地项目结束之后，我们会想：驻地后的艺术家回去他们自己的城市，自己的工作室，生活与工作的状态会是怎么样的？会有变化吗？

On this coming Saturday, Sep 7th, 2019, Studio Gallery is going to hold an Artist Talk themed "Mobility In Art" in its gallery space. In this talk, you will have a close look and better understanding of the artist Liu Jiadong's recent art pratice as well as his work on show in current exhibition "Resideny Art".

Just as the current exhibition "Residenty Art" is coming to the end, in order to responding to this exhibition in depth, we decide to present a specific case of an artist on show. Here we invite the artist Liu Jiadong, a previous artist-in-residence, to share with you his work progress and changes recently after completing his residence.

Acutally every time when we finished a resideny project, we can't stop to think:what will happen to these artists after returing back to their own cities, their ownstudios, how is their conditions and moods in life and work? Will there be any changes?

日夜颠倒 never gets up before noon

烟不离手 never shows up without smoking

不爱说普通话 dosen't like talking in madarin

（那什么，都很熟了，不要怪我直接哈～）

haha, don't blame us for being so direct ~

在我的印象里，刘家冬给我最深刻的感觉就是一首歌，叫《无所谓》！似乎生活上对别人而言的在陈规和精致，对他而言都无所谓，坐在地上吃饭也可以，没有床，拿纸当床垫也一样可以睡着。

In my impression, the deepest feeling Liu Jiadong left me is a popular song, called "It doesn't matter"! It doesnit matter for him sitting on the ground for lunch or dinner, It doesn't matter for him to sleep on a paper as a mattress, it dosen't matter if you find the sofa in his kitchen. 😂 

而唯独有一样：“感知”是他最感兴趣的。

又说抽象了，说点具体的：

吃、味觉：认识他的都知道他爱吃，平时他是一个喝水都能喝出不同味道的人

听、听觉：驻地的时候，我们观察到，基本上不拿笔的大部分时候都抱着电吉他，谈琴哼歌

大脑活动：我们每个人的思维系统是怎样工作的？你的系统是win7还是xp?😂 这个系统又是谁来决定，谁来搭建的？有没有可能改变？

触觉：玩泥巴，抹涂蜡笔，跟大油筒较劲都是他爱做的事。😂

The only thing that arouses his interests is "perception".

Okay this is too abstract, let's be specific:

Eating and Taste: Everyone who knows him knows that he is such a foodie, even normal water for him tastes in huge difference.

Listening and Hearing: When he was in residency, we found that most of the time when he dosen't paint or work, he always holds we an electric guitar and humming...

Brain Activity: How does our thinking/value system work? Is your system Win7 or xp? Who decides and who builds it? Is it possible to change?

Touch: Playing with mud, using crayons, and playing with big oil tanks are all his favorite things....😂

所以，每次要介绍刘家冬的作品总是很有难度，

因为他动用所有的感知而从来不用视觉打动人，

有一点晦涩，

BUT，很直接！

Therefore, it's always a tough job to introduce Liu Jiadong's works. Because he uses all his senses but doesn't like to apply any visiual attractions.

Yes, might be a little obscure,

BUT, very honest and direct!

Okay, let's start with a group of recent studio captures. Please note that all the pictures were taken by mobile phone, of without Photoshop, Lightroom and with very bad lighting conditions. They were recorded completely without considering the audience. agian, #It doesn't matter.😂
