重磅消息|曹雪涛当选为美国医学科学院外籍院士(有对其他的80名院士总结)

iNature美国国家医学院(NAM)在年会上宣布选举70名正式会员和10名国际会员。成为其中的会员被认为是卫生和医学领域最高荣誉之一,并认可表现出卓越的专业成就和服务承诺的个人。



美国国家医学院院长Victor J. Dzau说:“这些新当选的成员是美国和全球科学,医学和卫生领域最杰出的学者和领导人。 “他们的专长将帮助我们的组织解决今天最迫切的健康挑战,并为健康和医疗保健的未来提供信息,使我们大家受益。我荣幸地欢迎这些杰出人士到国家医学院。“

新成员由当前成员选出,通过认可对提高医学科学,保健和公共卫生作出重大贡献的个人的过程。美国国家医学院会员资格的多样性得到其“组织章程”的保障,该条例规定,至少四分之一的会员资格来自卫生专业以外的领域,例如从法律,工程,社会科学和人文学科。新当选的成员使美国国家医学院的总会员数达到2,127人,国际会员人数达到172人。

美国国家科学院于1970年由国家科学院成立为医学研究所,针对卫生,科学,医学和相关政策中的关键问题,激发了各部门的积极行动。 NAM与国家科学院和国家工程院合作,为国家提供独立,客观的分析和咨询,并开展其他活动,解决复杂问题,并公布公共决策。国家科学院,工程与医学科学院也鼓励教育和研究,认识到杰出的知识贡献,增加公众的认识。在当选的情况下,美国国家医学院成员承诺在国家科学院活动中自愿服务。
