With a 2,000-year history, Trier is the oldest town in Germany. The town has many ancient remnants, many of which are perfectly preserved.

This theme park resembles a pocket-sized version of the European continent. The planning of this building involved architects from Germany, France, and Austria, it is a U-shaped palace with 300 rooms. The well-groomed gardens stretch around the palace in an all-encompassing fashion. The residence is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Cologne Cathedral was under construction for around 600 years. In 1996, UNESCO added the cathedral to the World Heritage List. The cathedral sits on the site of a Roman temple from the 4th century, and houses three golden-crowned skulls which are thought to be from the Three Magi.

This is a cluster of 19th-century buildings in the neoclassical style. The museums, of which there are five, have collections of ethnological and historical wares as well as a congregation of art pieces, including Byzantine and Late Antique works in addition to a variety of sculptures.
