The Republic of Azerbaijan is a landlocked country in central Asia. It borders Russia and Georgia to the north, Armenia to the west, and Iran to the south. The capital city of Azerbaijan is Baku, and its official language is Azerbaijani.
阿塞拜疆共和国是中亚内陆国家。北与俄罗斯和格鲁吉亚接壤，西接亚美尼亚，南与伊朗接交界。阿塞拜疆首都是巴库，它的官方语言为阿塞拜疆语。
National Flag 国旗
The national flag of Azerbaijan has three horizontal stripes, from top to bottom, blue, red, and green. The middle stripe has a white crescent and an eight-pointed star. Blue color and the eight points on the star stand for the unity of Turkic groups, red is a symbol of progress and struggle for freedom, the green stripe, crescent and a star are traditional symbols of the Muslim religion.
阿塞拜疆国旗有三条横条，从上到下分别是蓝色、红色和绿色。中间的条纹有一个白色的新月和一个八角星。蓝色和八个星星的角代表着突厥族的团结，红色是进步和争取自由的象征，绿色的条纹、新月和星星是穆斯林宗教的传统符号。
National Anthem 国歌
The national anthem of Azerbaijan is “Azərbaycan marşı” which simply means “Azerbaijan National Anthem.”
阿塞拜疆国歌是“Azərbaycan marşı“，意思是“阿塞拜疆国歌”
National Currency 货币
The currency used in Azerbaijan is Azerbaijani Manat.
阿塞拜疆使用的货币是阿塞拜疆马纳特。
Baku 巴库

Baku is the capital and largest city of Azerbaijan. It is the largest city in the world located below sea level (it is twenty-eight meters below sea level). The city is also known as the city of winds and hills. Some of the attractions in the city are the Fountains Square, Ateshgah Temple, Old City, National Carpets Museum, Hayder Aliyev Cultural Centre, etc.
巴库是阿塞拜疆首都和最大城市。它是世界上最大位于海平面以下的城市（低于海平面28米）。这座城市也被称为风山之城。这里的一些景点包括喷泉广场、阿泰什加神庙、旧城、国家地毯博物馆、海德阿利耶夫文化中心等。
Ganja 甘贾
Ganja is one of the oldest cities in the country and has long been one of the most important cities in Azerbaijan. It is the second largest city in Azerbaijan. Attractions in the city include the Tomb of Nizami, Bottle House, Central Museum, Javad Khan Tomb, Shah Abbas Mosque, etc.
甘贾是阿塞拜疆最古老的城市之一，长期以来一直是阿塞拜疆最重要的城市之一。它是阿塞拜疆第二大城市。市内景点包括尼扎米墓、酒瓶屋、中央博物馆、贾瓦德汗墓、沙阿阿巴斯清真寺等。
Sumqayit 苏姆盖特
Sumqayit is the third largest city in Azerbaijan. There are numerous heavy industries including metallurgical and chemical plants in the city.
苏姆盖特是阿塞拜疆第三大城市。这个城市有许多重工业，包括冶金和化工厂。
Lankaran 兰卡兰
Lankaran is coastal city with sandy beaches. The city is known for its mineral springs, ruins of the Ballabur Castle, and a diversity of flora and fauna, especially ironwood. The Hirkan National Park is known for hosting the Persian Leopard. The city is also associated with ruins and artifacts belonging to the Neolithic period and Bronze and Iron Ages.
兰卡兰是海滨城市，有沙滩。这座城市以其矿泉、巴拉伯城堡的遗迹以及各种动植物，特别是铁木而闻名。希尔坎国家公园以接待波斯豹而闻名。这座城市还与新石器时代以及青铜和铁器时代的遗迹和文物有关。

Old City 旧城
Old City is in Baku, and it is Baku’s cultural heart. In here there are maze like cobbled streets, art workshops, cafes and museums.

The Palace of Shirvanshahs 谢凡沙斯宫殿
The palace of Shirvanshahs is a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by the Shirvanshah dynasty in the 15th century.
谢凡沙斯宫殿是联合国教科文组织在15世纪由谢凡沙斯王朝建造的世界遗产。
Maiden Tower 少女塔
Believed to be built around the 12th or 15th century on the shore of the Caspian Sea (later moved due to land reclamation), it forms a group of historic monuments listed in 2001 under the UNESCO World Heritage List of Historical Monuments as cultural property, Category III. It is one of Azerbaijan's most distinctive national emblems, and is thus featured on Azeri currency notes and official letterheads.
据信该塔建于12或者15世纪左右在里海海岸（后来由于填海造地而迁移），它是2001年被联合国教科文组织列为第三类文化遗产的世界历史遗迹名录所列的一组历史遗迹，是阿塞拜疆最具特色的国徽之一，因此在阿塞拜疆货币纸币和官方信笺上都有其图案。
Yanar Dag 亚纳达格
Yanar Dag is translated as the “Burning Mountain,” it continuously spit fire all year round, and has been doing so for about 1000s of years. Natural gas on the sides of the mountain ensures that the flames don’t stop even when it is raining.
亚纳达格被翻译为“燃烧的山”，它一年四季不停地喷火，已经喷火1000多年了。山坡上的天然气确保了即使下雨火焰也不熄灭。
Bottle House 瓶屋
This is a two-storey house decorated using forty-eight thousand glass bottles by Ibragim Jaffarov. There are several pictures on the walls that commemorate Ibragim’s brother Yusif, the brother never returned from WW2, but the family received a mysterious letter from him in 1957 so they think he didn’t die during the war.
这是一栋两层楼的房子，由Ibragim Jaffarov用四万八千个玻璃瓶装饰。墙上有几张照片是为了纪念伊布拉吉姆的哥哥尤西夫，他在二战中再也没有回来过，但是他的家人在1957年收到了他一封神秘的信，所以他们认为他没有死于战争。
Yanar Bulag 亚纳尔布拉格
Yanar Bulag means “burning spring,” it is a hot water spring that emits water and fire. The water is said to have remedial properties.

Caravan Palace 商队宫殿
The Caravan palace was a resting place for the caravans that passed along the Silk Road through Azerbaijan.

Gobustan National Park 戈布斯坦国家公园
On this park, oil is seeping from below ground. It is where conditions are right for mud volcanoes to form.

Xinaliq 新阿里克
Here there is a small, remote community. It is the highest, most remote and isolated village in the country. They have their own language which is different from Azeri or Russian. The language is said to be such that the villagers speaks directly to the soul.

Food and Drinks 美食和饮料
Plov 巴洛夫
Plov is a classic Azerbaijan food preparation featuring saffron-flavored rice, cooked using meat, onions, prunes, dry fruits, eggs, and fresh herbs. Azerbaijan has more than 40 different Plov recipes!
巴洛夫是一种典型的阿塞拜疆食品，以藏红花味的大米为特色，用肉、洋葱、李子、干果、鸡蛋和新鲜香草烹调而成。阿塞拜疆有40多种不同的巴洛夫食谱！
Dolma 多尔玛
Dolma is a delectable Azeri food prepared using rice mixed with minced lamb, mint, cinnamon and fennel wrapped in cabbage leaves or vine leaves! The vast majority of all Baku restaurants serve this dish!
多尔玛是一种美味的阿塞拜疆食物，由米饭和碎羊肉、薄荷、肉桂和茴香混合而成，用卷心菜叶或藤叶包裹！巴库绝大多数餐馆都供应这道菜！
Baliq 巴里克
Baliq has fish, usually sturgeon, grilled on a skewer and served with a tart sour-plum sauce. The fish is typically marinated using a combination of chopped dill, lemon juice and salt and is usually accompanied by lemon wedges.
Baliq有鱼，通常是鲟鱼，用叉子烧烤，配酸梅酱。这种鱼通常是用剁碎的莳萝、柠檬汁和盐混合腌制而成，通常还配以柠檬角。
Lavangi 拉文吉
Lavangi consist of chicken or fish stuffed with walnuts, raisins, onions, and other herbs.

Halva 哈尔瓦
This is a specialty of Sheki in North-west Azerbaijan, Halva comprises of chopped nuts sandwiched between thin layers of fried dough, normally savored with tea.

Azerbaijani Sherbet 阿塞拜疆果子露
This is the most enjoyed drink in Azerbaijan, sherbet is sweet cold drink, made using boiled water infused with sugar, various fruits, berries, mint and so on.
这是阿塞拜疆最受欢迎的饮料，果子露是甜的冷饮，用白开水注入糖、各种水果、浆果、薄荷等制成。
