众所周知,要想学好英语,词汇起着重要的作用.如果把语言比作大厦,语法就是建构大厦的结构设计图纸,词汇则是建筑材料.设计的再好,没有砖瓦材料,根本建不起大厦,没有词汇,语法学的再好,也学不好英语的听说读写。

不过,不能让学生孤零零地记忆单词,应该让他们把语法规则、词汇和语音语调整体记忆,音、意、形、用整体记忆。只记住单词的意思远远不够,还要知道这个单词的用法和合适的语境,因此通过文章的记忆比单纯的词汇表记忆有效得多。给学生们精选一些适合的文章显得尤为重要。

小学篇

My Backpack

I have a backpack. It is large and it is blue. It is a birthday gift from my parents. I love it very much. It is very "hard-working", because I keep all my school things in it. It is very heavy. It is with all the time during school days. It is a good friend of mine.

我的书包

我有一个背包。它很大，是蓝色的。这是父母给我的生日礼物。我非常喜欢它。这是非常“勤奋”，因为我把我所有上学的东西都放在里面。它非常重。所有在学校的日子都陪伴着我。它是我的好朋友。

初中篇

Dear David

last week we held a discussion on what we should do for our school before we graduate. The students in our class have different suggestions.

Some students think that we can collect money to buy some books for the school library or something else for our school. Other students think that it’s not necessary to spend money. We should study hard and make our school feel proud of us.

In my opinion, we don’t have to spend money. We can do something meaningful without money. For example, we can do something to make our school beautiful and protect the environment well. Of course, we should try our best to get better grades in the coming exams so that our school will be proud of us.

I’d like to know your idea, could you give me some advice?

一些同学认为我们可以为学校图书馆买一些书或为我们学校买点别的东西。其他学生认为没有必要花钱。我们应该努力学习，让学校为我们感到骄傲。

在我看来，我们不需要花钱。没有钱我们也可以做些有意义的事。例如，我们可以做一些事情使我们的学校变美和保护环境。当然，我们应该尽最大努力在即将到来的考试中取得更好的成绩，这样我们的学校会为我们感到骄傲。

An Interesting Festival 有趣的节日

The Agricultural Feast takes place after the Independence Day. It is not a worldwide celebration. Only Christians in Mexico look forward to its arrival for its religious origin:

Long ago, humans’ ancestors were bad. They fooled and played tricks on each other and never kept their word. So God turned up and drowned all their crops. Humans starved day and night, weeping. In order to gain God’s forgiveness, a woman poet set off to see God. She admired God and kept apologizing. God was moved. With his permission, humans finally had good harvests again. So, to wipe sadness and remind themselves

of the belief in God, people began the festival.

On the festival, people gather in open air, such as playgrounds or parking lots, and energetically have fun with each other all night long, as though they were never tired. When a beauty dressed up in lovely clothing reads poems in memory of the poet, everyone holds their breath. Then, it is the custom that the bone of a rooster

head is given to her as an award.

Obviously, the story is not true, but the festival is interesting.

农业盛会在独立日后举行。它不是一个世界性的庆典，由于它的宗教起源，只有墨西哥的基督徒才盼着节日的到来：
