Tempeh or tempe is a traditional Indonesian soy product, that is made from fermented soybeans. It is made by a natural culturing and controlled fermentation process that binds soybeans into a cake form.

主要材料 | Main Ingredients:
200克天贝 | 200g of Tempeh
2茶匙植物油(如红花或葡萄籽)| 2 teaspoons vegetable oil (such as safflower or grapeseed)
1茶匙姜末 | 1 tsp ginger grated
2茶匙甜味剂(查看下面引用的蜂蜜替代品)| 2 tsp sweeteners [check the honey substitute article quoted below]
1/4茶匙辣椒粉 | 1/4 teaspoon chili pepper flakes
1/4茶匙现磨黑胡椒 | 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1汤匙低钠酱油 | 1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce

*Salt is optional, but not recommended as we add soy sauce

Instructions | 步骤:
第一步:

Step 1:
Add the block of Tempeh and simmer [do not boil] in a pot of water for 10 minutes. Drain the Tempeh and pat it dry. Allow the block to cool, and when it's cool enough to handle, crumble it into the tiny pieces.
第二步:
用中火将大煎锅中的油加热。加入天贝,辣椒片和黑胡椒。将天贝煮约5至7分钟,时时搅拌,直至其变成浅褐色,并根据需要添加一些油。
Step 2:
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the Tempeh, chilli pepper flakes, and black pepper. Cook the Tempeh for about 5 to 7 minutes, stirring often, or until it's lightly browned, adding a little extra oil as needed.
第三步:

Step3:
Add the soy sauce, ginger [garlic, scallions if needed] to the Tempeh crumbles and cook for another 2 minutes. Season the crumbles to taste with additional herbs if you want before taking the crumbles off the pan.

You may ask: Does it taste like meat?

Tempeh tastes NOTHING like any Animal Meat cause..... it is not from an animal.
