BBC新版《文明》，2018倾情奉献，共九集。涵盖六个大陆，三十一个国家，超过500件艺术品。主讲人历史学家西蒙·沙玛、学者玛丽·比尔德以及戴维·奥卢索加将一起探索人类创造的渴望。此外，“文明节”将通过创新的数字产品和活动，为博物馆的珍宝赋予新的生命力。
从《地球脉动》到《蓝色星球》再到前不久的《大猫》；BBC用一部部高走神作纪录片，开辟了一般观众的视界和认知。大自然的巧夺天工，生命的富丽壮美；让咱们不由为之感动和震慑。就在前不久，纪录片狂魔BBC又推出了一部口碑迸裂的纪录片——《文明》Civilisations(2018)，这部《文明》，是以人类前史上的艺术品为主；回溯人类几万年的文明开展的进程。这次它涵盖六个大陆，三十一个国家，记录了超越五百件艺术品。导演阿什利·格辛，是一名经验丰富的纪录片导演。他从前辅导了过庆祝英国女王90岁生日的纪录片；上一年那部《咱们的母亲，戴安娜》也出自他手。
为了防止过多的个人观点，这一次BBC请来了三位主讲人；他们都是艺术、前史方面的尖端学术大牛；各个闻名大学的尖端教授。有了这样的客观保证，公然，《文明》的口碑又炸了。从第一个镜头开端，人类文明的磅礴震慑，就扑面而来；让你不由为人类的才智感到赞赏。两河流域的美索不达米亚平原上；那里的人们运用集约灌溉技能，促使了世界上第一个城市群的兴起；一起也产生了展现强者形象的艺术。

Civilization is such a grand word, isn’t it? But, as I think we’ve seen, it’s true strength lies as much in simple gifts——pots and prints and rugs and carvings——as it does in mighty buildings and fine paintings, and those things spring less from the officious demands of state and the status hunger of the rich than they do from the unruly urges of gifted artists, from one end of the world to the other, to make something for everyone. And because those things are not dependent on the fate of empires, or the moneyed or military, I think they will stick around, they will endure——not forever, nothing survives forever——but at any rate for the next millennia, as unmistakable evidence of the best things that our species was capable of creating——things that have been made by the liberated thought, the acute vision and the unquenchable creative fire of our shared humanity.
