Foreign Experts Help Correct English Signages in Public Spaces

On October 26, 2023, in accordance with the work requirements set by the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office for self-inspection of English signage in public places, the Bao’an Foreign Language Association organizes three teams consisting of foreign experts and volunteers to conduct inspections of English signage in some public places of Bao’an.
2023年10月26日，根据市委外办做好公示语英文标识自查的相关工作要求，宝安外语协会组织了由外国专家和志愿者组成的三支团队，到宝安区相关公共场所开展英文标识检查。
This inspection coveres a total of 18 locations, including the Bao’an District Administrative Service Hall, Seaside Square, Binhai Cultural Park, Shenzhen Uniwalk Qianhai, Qianhai JW Marriott Hotel, Bao’an Sports Center, Bao’an Library, Bay Area International Exchange Service Center, Bao’an Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Xiwai Mangrove Park, Bay Area New Technology and New Product Exhibition Center, Bao’an 1990, Bao’an Science and Technology Park, Bao’an Talent Park, Qingping Ancient Village, Shenzhen International Exhibition & Convention Center, and Shenzhen Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital.
本次相关公共场所英文标识检查范围共18个地点，包括宝安区行政服务大厅、海滨广场、滨海文化公园、壹方城、前海JW万豪酒店、宝安体育馆、宝安图书馆、湾区国际交流服务中心、宝安妇幼保健院、西湾红树林公园、湾区新技术新产品展示中心、宝安1990、宝安科技园、宝安人才园、清平古虚、国际会展中心、深圳市中西医结合医院。
The three teams comprehensively check the English signage at the mentioned 18 locations, make corrections, and take photos for documentation.
三支团队全面搜索了上述18个地点的英文标识，查错补缺，并拍照留存。
In urban development, the use of English signage is widespread and an important reflection of an international city. This correction action is an important task of our city’s foreign affairs department in building a foreigner-friendly city. And the Bao’an Foreign Language Association will further promote the standardization of foreign language public signage in public places and continue to work towards improving the internationalization and civility of Bao’an.
在城市建设中，公示语英文标识应用非常广泛，也是一个城市国际化成熟度的重要体现。此次纠错行动是我市外事部门建设外国人友好城市的一项重要工作。宝安外语协会将进一步助力公共场所外文公示语规范化，持续为提升城市国际化水平和文明水平努力。
