The Tokyo 2020 Paralympics kicked off Tuesday in the Olympic Stadium in Japan and will run through Sunday, Sept. 5.

China will move to crack down on the "chaotic" online celebrity fan culture, the country's cyberspace regulator said in a notice published on Friday, part of an ongoing state campaign to "rectify" the internet sector.
网信办通知，严禁呈现互撕信息，清理违规群组版块，及时发现清理“饭圈”粉丝互撕谩骂、拉踩引战、造谣攻击等各类有害信息。
The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) said it would take action against the dissemination of "harmful information" in celebrity fan groups and close down discussion channels that spread celebrity scandals or "provoke trouble".
网信办通知，对明星相关账号注册认证、内容发布、商业推广、危机公关、粉丝管理等网上行为作出明确规定，并取消明星艺人榜单。
The administration will improve the way it regulates the promotion of celebrities online and also ban lists that rank celebrities by popularity, the notice said.
网信办要求强化节目设置管理，加强对网络综艺节目网上行为管理，不得设置“花钱买投票”功能，严禁引导、鼓励网民采取购物、充会员等物质化手段为选手投票，并严控未成年人参与饭圈活动。
It will also take action against the financial exploitation of netizens through the sale of merchandise or by charging fans to vote for their favourite acts in online variety shows. It also aims to restrict access to online fan groups for minors.

China's Daqing Oilfield announced Wednesday the discovery of a major shale oil field with predicted geological reserves of about 1.27 billion tonnes.
大庆油田25日宣布集群发现一个主要的页岩油田，预计石油储量为 12.7 亿吨。
The discovery is expected to help Daqing Oilfield, one of China's largest oil production centers, to achieve an annual shale oil production capacity of one million tonnes within a few years.
大庆油田是中国主要的陆上产油中心之一，这一新发现有望帮助其在未来几年提高石油产量至年产100万吨。
Located in the northeastern province of Heilongjiang, the oilfield has made a significant contribution to China's modern petroleum industry since it was discovered in 1959.

Over the past 62 years, Daqing Oilfield has produced more than 2.4 billion tonnes of crude oil.

Fudan University has concluded, after investigation, that doctorate dissertation of Zhang Wenhong, a top infectious disease expert, does not make up as academic misconduct, whisking off online accusation of the experts' 20-year-old paper.
日前，复旦大学公布调查结果称，权威传染病专家张文宏的博士论文不构成学术不端行为，消除了网络上对这篇二十年前的论文的指控。
Although some parts of the doctorate paper of Zhang, which was writen in 2000, did not follow academic standard, it does not affect its scientific achievements, nor does it constitute as academic misconduct, Fudan University announced on Monday.
8月23日，复旦大学宣布，尽管张文宏于2000年撰写的博士论文中某些部分没有遵循学术标准，但这并不影响其科学成就，也不构成学术不端行为。
Fudan launched an investigation on Zhang's paper on August 15, after some netizens took to China's Twitter-like platform Sina Weibo saying that Zhang's doctorate paper is suspected of academic fraud. The netizens said Zhang cited a paper by Huang Hainan, from Qilu Institute of Technology, which was published in the Chinese Journal of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases in 1998, without quotes, notes, or an acknowledgement.
此前，有微博网友宣称张文宏的博士论文涉嫌学术欺诈，复旦大学随后于8月15日对该论文展开调查。网友称，张文宏引用了齐鲁理工学院黄海南的一篇论文，但没有引文、注释或致谢，该论文曾于1998年发表于《中华结核和呼吸杂志》。

Wu Xieyu given sentence for killing his mother

A former Peking University student was sentenced to death by a court in Fujian province for killing his mother.
北大一学子因弑母在福建一法庭被判死刑。
The Fuzhou Intermediate People's Court said Wu Xieyu was also found guilty of fraud and illegally buying identity cards and it decided to give the 26-year-old the death penalty after combining the punishments. It also fined him 103,000 yuan.
福州市中级人民法院称，26岁的吴谢宇同时犯有诈骗、买卖身份证件罪，数罪并罚，决定执行死刑，并处罚金人民币十万三千元。
Prosecutors said Wu prepared to kill his mother, Xie Tianqin, then 48, in early 2015 and carried out the act at her home in Fuzhou, capital of Fujian, on July 10 that year with knives he had bought online.
法院称，2015年上半年，吴谢宇产生杀害母亲谢天琴（殁年48岁）之念，网购刀具等作案工具后，于7月10日在其母位于福州的家中将其杀害。
