CBBC Holds Latest Government Affairs Working Group Meeting

The China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) held the latest meeting of our Government Affairs Working Group in Beijing on 31 March online.

LI Zhi, Assistant Dean, the China Institute of Development Planning, Tsinghua University, gave a presentation on how best to interpret the Government Work Report from the Two Sessions and the 14th Five Year Plan and their relevance to business.

Meanwhile, Joe Cash, Policy Analyst, CBBC, updated members on UK-China Relations in the context of the ongoing situation in Ukraine.

Government Affairs Working Groups

CBBC’s Government Affairs Working Groups are closed-door, off-the-record, and cross-sectoral member forums. In addition to contributing directly to CBBC’s advocacy programme, the platform provides our members with a forum to exchange ideas and share best practice concerning handling issues inhibiting the expansion of British business in China.

In addition to the Working Group discussions, each session features a presentation from a topical industry leader or Government representative, as well as the opportunity to engage with CBBC’s Government Affairs and Policy teams.

Open to all CBBC members, these groups will serve as the foundation to our work to improve and address issues in the business environment as well as market access in China. Outputs from the Working Groups will be developed with both the British and Chinese Governments in mind.

Participation in CBBC’s Working Groups will allow your business to ensure that its views are put to the British and Chinese Governments as part of CBBC’s advocacy programme.
