也是24节气里的第六个节气
Grain Rain (guyu), the sixth solar term of the Chinese calendar, marks the end of cold weather, as temperatures increase quickly, marking the best time to sow grain seeds and other crops. 谷雨标志着寒潮天气基本结束，气温回升加快，也是一年中播种移苗、埯瓜点豆的最佳时节。
Usually, there are plentiful rains in southern China while the North needs irrigation to help crops grow, which inspired the old saying "spring rain is as precious as oil". 通常南方这时雨水比较丰富，有利于作物生长，而北方地区仍需要采取人工灌溉。所以俗话说“春雨贵如油”。

仓颉造字成之日
举国欢腾，感动上苍
把谷子像雨一样哗哗地降下来
吓得鬼怪夜里啾啾地哭起来
即《淮南子》记载的
“天雨粟，鬼夜啼”
In one myth, the news that Cang Jie invented Chinese characters delighted the whole nation and God. Grain dropped from the sky like raindrops, frightening evil spirits into crying at night.

柳絮飞落，杜鹃夜啼
牡丹吐蕊，樱桃红熟
是万物生长的最佳时节
This is the ideal time for growing. Poplar catkins float in the air and cuckoos sing at night. Peonies begin to thrive, as cherries become red and mature.
谷雨有三候
一候萍始生
谷雨后降雨量增多
浮萍开始生长

二候鸣鸠拂其羽
布谷鸟不停鸣叫
停在树枝上不时拂着羽毛

三候戴胜降于桑

传说谷雨这天的茶喝了会
清火、辟邪、明目
所以谷雨这天不管是什么天气
人们都会去茶山摘一些新茶回来泡喝
In the south, people pick tea. It's said that drinking tea on this day will help reduce the internal heat, exorcise evil spirits and improve eyesight. So no matter if it rains or shines, people pick and drink new tea during the Grain Rain.
“壮行节祭海”
谷雨时节正是春海水暖之时
百鱼行至浅海地带
是下海捕鱼的好日子
为了能够出海平安、满载而归
谷雨这天也叫做渔民出海捕鱼的“壮行节”
The sea warms and fish swim to shallow areas allowing fishermen easier catches. In order to have a safe trip and a fruitful return, the day is also referred to as"Bolstering departure day".
渔民要举行海祭
他们将供品抬至海边
敲锣打鼓，燃放鞭炮
面海祭祀，场面十分隆重
