Job Description:
1.Participate in a continuous process of English curriculum co-creation in which colleagues imagine ever better ways to connect with and inspire students to become lifelong learners who are of use to the world. The school curriculum should be experiential (e.g., project-based, hands-on, seminar-/inquiry-based) and connect students to the real world.
2.Plan, organize, and provide instruction in English that meet school standards. Develop and deliver lesson plans that utilize a broad range of appropriate teaching techniques and strategies.
3.Provide instruction that is consistent and coordinated with school’s instructional program so as to ensure that students meet and exceed learning targets.
4.Administer academic assessments for the purpose of evaluating student progress for meeting academic learning targets and progress in learning and maintain legible, verifiable, accurate, comprehensive, defendable and fair records of formative and summative assessment results.
5.Write reports on student performance for internal and external useas required.
6.Adapt curriculum to provide individual, small group, and/or remedial instruction as to meet the needs of individual students and subgroups of students.
7.Employ a variety of proven, research-based techniques and strategies for effective classroom management, lesson planning, active student engagement, and instructional delivery to meet different aptitudes and interests of students.
8.Regularly monitor student academic performance, communicate timely and, support both students who are experiencing academic difficulties and also those with learning differences where needed.
Requirements:
1.Bachelor’s degree required;
2.At least 5+ years of experience in teaching English as the second language or 3+ years of experience as a home room teacher. Experience in teaching K-12 in China school system is preferred;
3.Excellent organization, and concise, clear oral and written communication
skills;
4.High level of patience and diplomacy;
5.Ability to multi-task effectively and work efficiently;
6.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team;
7.Possess the desire to live and work in a residential academic setting;
