About The Film/电影简介
Toxic Beauty is a documentary feature film with exclusive access to scientists, lawyers, advocates, regulators, politicians, a dynamic whistle blower, survivors and women who have lost their lives. It follows the class action lawsuit against J&J and the plaintiffs, personal stories of women fighting for justice in a race against time with this deadly disease. Woven throughout the film is a human experiment. Boston University medical student, Mymy Nguyen, measures her chemical body burden from over 27 products. Scientists monitor her shocking results. In the end, the film meets the companies and people who offer solutions and optimism for safer, toxicant free cosmetics.

《毒美》是一部专题纪录片，独家采访了科学家、律师、诉讼代理人、监管者、政治家、一位充满活力的举报人、幸存者和一群失去生命的女性受害者。影片讲述了针对强生公司的集体诉讼和原告们的个人故事，这些女性在与这种致命疾病的时间赛跑中争取正义。贯穿影片的是一个人体实验：波士顿大学医科学生Mymy Nguyen测量了她在27种以上产品中的化学身体负担，科学家们监测到她身体令人震惊的结果。最后，影片带大家认识了为更安全、无毒的化妆品提供解决方案和乐观态度的公司和人士。

Guest Speaker/特邀嘉宾
Born in South Korea, Kyung-Hwa Kim has been in the salon industry for 30 years. She studied systematically on how to produce essential oils in Tokyo from 2000 then moved to China to pursue her career in the salon industry. Ms. Kim's life changed dramatically when she was diagnosed with stage III thyroid cancer. Battling with cancer, Ms. Kim began to research how her environment could have effected her and discovered that 80% of cancers are caused by harmful chemical ingredients in daily household products. She changed all the cosmetics and household products to green and healthy brands right away. Now, Ms. Kim has fully recovered from cancer and she has been working to promote green household products in China.

金京和出生于韩国，已从事美发行业30年。2000-2004年曾留学日本东京，潜心修习精油制作。随后搬到中国，继续从事美发行业。四年前，金京和老师的生活发生了巨变，她被诊断为甲状腺癌3期，癌细胞已经转移到其它身体组织。在之后与癌症抗争的日子里，金京和老师开始思考和研究自己得癌症的根源，她发现80%的癌症都是源于日用品有害的化学成份。随后，她第一时间将家里所有的化妆品、日用品等都换成了绿色健康的品牌。目前，金老师的癌症已痊愈，她也一直在中国致力于宣传推广绿色环保日用产品。

Green Solutions China is a social enterprise in southwest China that advocates for a sustainable lifestyle, plant-based diet, and organic food. The last Wednesday of each month, we organize a community film screening on a relevant environmental or social issue. Each screening includes a guest speaker-- who gives a damn about our planet! and a hands-on eco-friendly activity. This event brings people together to raise awareness about sustainability through fun activities.
