惊喜！ES&T家族新增重要成员: ACS ES&T Water 和 ACS ES&T Engineering

ACS将于2020年春季新增两本环境类期刊：ACS ES&T Water 和 ACS ES&T Engineering，这也是继ES&T Letters之后ES&T家族再次增添重要成员！ACS期刊的质量一向有口皆碑，有一句俗话叫：ACS出品，必属精品！所以小伙伴们明年抓紧投稿呀！

“Environmental science is among the fastest-growing areas of scientific research,” says James Milne, Ph.D., acting president, ACS Publications Division. “ACS ES&T Water and ACS ES&T Engineering will allow us to better serve the community’s need for the highest quality research in these areas, while maintaining Environmental Science & Technology as the leading publication in its field.”

The launch of these two journals reflects the growing role of environmental science and technology in the chemistry field and in our daily lives. With more scientific attention and public interest focused on the effects of Earth’s changing environment, significantly more research is being conducted around the world into the environmental challenges and opportunities impacting us now and in the future. The addition of these two journals to the Environmental Science & Technology family will allow ACS to publish more scientific breakthroughs that will lead to further understanding of our world and, ultimately, a better ability to respond to the challenges which threaten it.

ACS ES&T Engineering will publish experimental and theoretical research in the interdisciplinary areas of environmental technology, engineering and chemistry. This will include new insights and advances in environmental engineering research and technological innovation. The journal seeks original research on the development of sustainable engineering solutions to protect the environment and remediate the risks of hazardous materials and pollutants. Its primary focus is on all engineering-related systems in environmental chemistry and technology. The journal’s broad scope includes:

• Novel engineering solutions to protect air, soil, and water quality

• Remediation of contaminated air, soil, and water

• Green technologies for sustainable environmental engineering processes     addressing interconnecting energy and environmental issues

• Environmental catalysis, electro-catalysis, and photo-catalysis

• Environmental nanotechnology and sustainable process engineering

• Development of sustainable and renewable materials for environmental pollution control

• Development of environmental monitoring and sensor technologies

• Treatment and disposal of solid, liquid, and gas waste and resource recovery from waste

• Computational and quantitative analytical tools to predict environmental impacts (data  science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data scraping)

• Modeling transport and fate of contaminants in natural and engineered systems

• Environmental management and lifecycle modeling and assessments

ACS ES&T Water will publish original, high-quality peer-reviewed research on the broad topic of water quality and anthropogenic and geogenic contaminants, as well as the environmental chemistry and technology for sustainable water management and reuse. Its multidisciplinary water-research focus will welcome all water-related environmental chemistry and technology papers.The journal’s broad scope includes:

• Water  quality and the transformation, transport, and behavior of anthropogenic and geogenic contaminants in aqueous environments (groundwater, surface     water, snow, precipitation, marine water)

• Water supply and sustainability

• Water treatment, recycling, and reuse

• Water protection, policy, and regulation

• Analytical methodology for aqueous contaminants

• Groundwater remediation and restoration

• Detection and characterization of emerging contaminants

• Global and local water-quality monitoring data trends

• Modeling contaminant transport and fate

Both journals will begin to accept submissions in the spring of 2020. Founded in 1967, Environmental Science & Technology is the most cited journal in its field. In 2014 the journal expanded to include Environmental Science & Technology Letters. By launching these two new journals in 2020, ACS aims to allow Environmental Science & Technology to continue its focus in a wide range of environmental disciplines, while giving the burgeoning fields of water research and environmental engineering dedicated journals to flourish.
