回到2011年,在“善因”开业庆典上,贾雷基回忆起拉特瓦尼找他合作开设餐厅和酒吧的初次反应:“我问他,‘那你们有什么经验呢?’ 他说,‘没有经验。’ 于是我说,‘帮我一个忙,拿着你准备开这个酒吧的钱,把它冲进马桶里吧。五年后你会感谢我的。’” 14或许,维莱尔和拉特瓦尼如果当初决定不开设“善因”,他们的情况会更好:他们承担了巨大的个人风险,但最终并没有得到回报。
