Brief | 导读
Pre-accept means the status before the final acceptance. In this status, some revisions need to be made to improve the manuscript through the cooperation amid editors, authors, and artists via a series of panel discussions. Generally, there are five sections: ①figure polishing, ②language polishing, ③ transferring for production, ④promotion via WeChat & beyond, ⑤ author proof. A WeChat Group will be built (Figure 1) to facilitate the process, which is hosted by an editor in charge of this Group.

Section 1
Figure Polishing | 图表打磨
There are two subsections.
1.1 Polish the figures/tables | 润色图表
Applicable to all categories of papers (Figure 2) | 适用于所有文章类别

1.2 Prepare a cover page | 创作图文摘要

1.2.1 Graphical Abstract l 图文摘要
Use a general graph to highlight key points of your paper (Figure 3-4). 用一幅简图/表来突出文章的亮点

1.2.2 Public Summary | 大众解读
You are supposed to use 3-5 sentences to explain your main points to the public (Figure 5-6).

Section 2
Language Polishing | 语言润色
There are 3 subsections. First, you are welcome to submit your pre-accepted manuscript to specialized language polishing agency. Yet, to be advised that the authors are those who understand the paper better than anyone else. Secondly, the editor with similar academic background will provide his/her suggestions. Thirdly, the production team of Cell Press will correct typos and beyond. Obviously, the first step of polishing is more important than the later two. The editorial staff will make a final check to make sure your manuscript meets the requirements of The Innovation (Table 1).

Section 3
Transferring for Production | 移交Cell Press排版
After figure & language polishing, you are expected to re-submit your final manuscript. And the editorial team will transfer your items for production (Figure 8).

After transferring, your manuscript will live as “Just Accepted” (Figure 9) in 3 business days, with both the DOI and Access Number. Since then, formal citation will be available.

Section 4
Promotion via WeChat & beyond | 官微等推广文章
Once “Just Accepted” online, The Innovation will organize to distribute your findings via its official WeChat account (Figure 10). Meanwhile, the editorial team will introduce your paper to various big WeChat Groups to spread your findings.

As a reminder, you are supposed to explain your findings clearly to the public. We understand that it might be challenging for you, but it deserves to be popular. Trust me, YOU CAN.

In addition, other social medias, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram, will be employed to promote your paper in English (Figure 11).

Section 5
Author Proof | 作者校稿
Following "Just Accepted" online, you will receive a proofing email in 5 business days. You will be required to get back your proof in 24 hours. The final production (.PDF & .html) will then display as “Latest Content” and go to next Archive (Figure 12). By the way, anyone can get the final PDF file at toll free.
