According to a report by Sanya PSB, the local police recently detained two individuals who were accussed of inflight smoking.The police said they received a report from crew members of flight number CZ**3 that was destined to Sanya, alleging that there was a passenger smoking in the restroom amid flight. When the plane landed, the police took the suspect, Mr. Zhao, to the police station for questioning.
Zhao confessed to the police that he had smoked in the plane's restroom amid flight, adding that he didn't expect that a safety officer on the flight would find out.
In another case, the police said they also received a report from a HU**4 flight's crew members, who said there was a passenger smoking in the plane's restroom amid flight.When the plane landed, they took the offender, Mr. Tian, to the police station for further questioning.Tian said he entered the restroom to smoke and when he had just taken a few puffs, the smoke triggered the smoke detection alarm.
Both Zhao (31 years old) and Tian (68 years old) said they regret their behavior and actions, and expressed that they would accept any punishment imposed on them.Tian was put under a 7-day administrative detention, while Zhao was detained for 5 days, in accordance with the law.
