During his three-day visit to Russia starting on Monday, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin had sincere, friendly and fruitful talks on the bilateral ties and major regional and international issues of mutual interest, and reached new, important common understandings in many fields.

Credit Suisse will be taken over by Swiss banking giant UBS, the Swiss federal government said on Sunday.

瑞士联邦政府19日宣布，瑞士信贷银行将被瑞银集团收购。

"In this difficult situation, the takeover of Credit Suisse by UBS is the best solution for restoring the confidence that has been lacking in financial markets recently, and for best managing the risk to our country and its citizens," the government said. 

瑞士联邦政府称，面对目前的困难形势，瑞银集团收购瑞信是挽救近期金融市场信心低迷情况的最佳解决方案，同时也是管理瑞士及其公民所面临风险的最佳解决方案。

The deal, hastily brokered over the course of a few days by the Swiss government, signifies the stunning fall of a 166-year-old institution that was once an emblem of Swiss pride. It is perhaps the most sweeping shake-up of the global banking sector since the 2008 financial crisis, when onetime financial giants were acquired by rivals to avoid catastrophic meltdowns.

A college student was expelled from a well-known university in Jiangsu province on Sunday after being found guilty of maliciously retouching photos of female classmates, which he posted on porn forums and captioned with abusive words of a pornographic nature.

3月19日，江苏省一所知名学府的某大学生因恶意修改女同学照片，并配以侮辱性言论在黄色论坛上发布，被学校给予开除学籍处分。

Through investigation, the illegal behavior of the student, who is surnamed Zhao, was confirmed and he will be expelled in accordance with the regulations of Soochow University, according to a brief statement by the university.

苏州大学发布的官方通报显示，经调查核实，该校学生赵某某违法行为属实，依照学校相关规定给予该生开除学籍处分。

The police have already punished the student, the brief said.

The case has been the focus of a great deal of attention on social networks over the weekend after a WeChat article was posted on Friday by a woman claiming to be a high school classmate of the perpetrator and one of Zhao's victims.

About half of Chinese adults sleep less than eight hours every night, a new report said on Friday.

3月17日发布的一份报告显示，近半数中国成年人每晚睡眠时长不足8小时。

The report, released by the Chinese Sleep Research Society, said that last year Chinese adults slept an average 7.4 hours per night.

该报告由中国睡眠研究会发布。报告显示，2022年，中国成年人每晚平均睡眠时长为7.40小时。

However, the report also found that 90 percent of the respondents said that their sleep quality is "OK" or "very good", with only 10 percent saying that their sleep quality was "not good" or "very bad".

People with lower level of education have less sleep and lower sleep quality, according to the report. Those with stronger academic backgrounds tended to sleep longer and better, but those who have earned master's or doctorates reported less, lower-quality sleep.
