Designs of Unbelievable New Shenzhen Landmark Skycraper Revealed
The roof of the new DJI Sky City Project was successfully sealed during a ceremony on September 2nd, marking an important milestone for the construction of yet another new soon-to-be iconic Shenzhen landmark.
DJI Sky City Project
The DJI Sky City project, the new global headquarters of DJI, is located in Liuxiandong, Nanshan District. Composed of six "cantilever cubes" and steel bridges supported by a giant steel frame, it has a total construction area of 241,700 square meters and stands at 200 meters tall.
Special type of super high-rise project
Innovative use of dozens of high tech methods
Its unique structure and shape add an extra level of difficulty to the construction of the DJI Sky City project; a special type of super high-rise project, with uneven planes, discontinuous floor slabs, and sudden change in lateral stiffness.
The project uses dozens of advanced technology and construction methods, including drones + VR glasses and others to inspect the safety of the high-altitude operations, strengthen quality control and construction safety management.
Once completed, the DJI Sky City project, will have four major functional areas and is expected to become yet another landmark building in Shenzhen.
DJI Sky City
The project is designed by Foster + Partners, an internationally renowned design team, with an artistic style. The tower adopts an all-steel structure, with a total steel consumption of 55,000 tons. The west tower is 193.1 meters high (43 floors), and the east tower is 211.6 meters high (47 floors).

Once completed, Sky City is expected to house four functional areas for DJI, its corporate headquarters, operation services, R&D innovation and comprehensive support services.
