That 引导的定语从句
英语中用来修饰名词或代词的词、短语或句子叫作定语。我们称在复合句中作定语的句子为定语从句。被定语从句所修饰的词叫先行词，引导定语从句的词叫引导词。我们在本模块主要学习由 that 引导的定语从句。请仔细观察下列例句，注意划线部分内容，然后补全结论部分所缺内容。

【结论】
通过观察例句可以看出，定语从句通常放在先行词的后面。以上例句中的定语从句均由 that 引导，that 称为引导词。由例 1 和 2 可以看出，that 在定语从句中作 主语，且 that 不能省略；观察例 3 和 4 可知，that 在定语从句中做宾语，且 that 可以省略。通过观察例句 1 和 3 可知，that 引导的定语从句可以修饰表示物的词；由例 2 和 4 可以看出，that 引 导 的 定 语 从 句 还 可 以 修 饰 表 示人 的词。
