The Book Drive

捐书活动

In the weeks before the holiday we held a school-wide book drive in effort to stock the library of our Seeds of Hope sister school: Xilian Primary School in Hebei province. 

圣诞假期前的几个星期，我们在学校范围内开展了一项捐书活动，为我们的希望种子姐妹学校¬—河北省西连小学的图书馆募集图书。

We collected around 800 books across the whole school and the YCIS Beijing libraries also contributed 2,500 books and reference materials. Our generous parents donated six LCD TVs to aid their learning and the YCIS family has given electronic keyboards, toys, games and IT equipment. 

我们在全校募集到了大约800本书，北京耀中图书馆也捐赠了2,500本书和参考资料。我们的家长们非常慷慨的捐赠了六台液晶电视用于学习用途，耀中家长会还赞助了电子琴、玩具、游戏和一些IT设备。

This semester, staff and students will deliver these items in person to the school along with a set of textbooks designed, written and published by our own Year 7 students during their project-based learning last year. 

本学期，教职员工和学生们将会亲手把这些捐赠送给西连小学，同时带去的还有我们7年级学生在去年的学习项目中设计、编写和出版的一套教科书。

These donations will make such a difference to the learning of these young students.

这些捐赠将对这些年轻学生的学业产生重大影响。

A Visit to Migrant Children’s Foundation

参观打工子弟基金会

On December 10, I joined Primary students and representatives from the PO on a visit to one of the Migrant Children’s Foundation schools. We had the pleasure of taking part in MCF’s Secret Santa project this year and our students and families donated many thoughtful gifts to the children. 

12月10日，我和我校小学生以及家长会的代表一起参观了一所打工子弟基金会学校。今年我们有幸参加了打工子弟基金会的秘密圣诞老人项目，我们的学生和家长向这些孩子们捐赠了许多饱含心意的礼物。

I am always moved by the kindness of our students and families. Thank you very much to those who donated, books, equipment and Christmas presents and to those who showed great kindness towards the children at MCF. I am looking forward to continuing to make a difference this semester.   

我经常被学生和家长的善行所感动。非常感谢那些捐赠图书、设备和圣诞礼物的人以及那些对打工子弟基金会的孩子们表现出极大善意的人。我期待着这个活动能在本学期继续发挥作用。
