Clive Scott

Clive Scott is a professor of European Literature at the University of East Anglia and the author of many ground-breaking books on French poetry.[1]

Scott's book Channel Crossings: French and English Poetry in Dialogue 1550-2000 (Legenda, 2002) was awarded the 2003 R. H. Gapper Book Prize by the UK Society for French Studies. This prize recognises the work as the best book published by a scholar working in Britain or Ireland in French studies in 2002.[2]

Scott became a fellow of the British Academy in 1994.

Biography

Rachel Weissbrod is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Translation and Interpreting Studies at Bar-Ilan University, Israel. Her areas of research include theory of translation, literary translation into Hebrew, film and TV translation and the interrelation between translation and other forms of transfer.

Ayelet Kohn is a Senior Lecturer at The David Yellin College of Education, Jerusalem. Her research interests are the mutual relations between images and written texts in their sociological context. Her work looks into political graffiti, tourism posters, iconic photography, visual propaganda in social media, talkbacks and short documentary reportages.

Dr. Said Faiq

With some 30 years in academia in Africa, the Middle East and Great Britain, Said M. Faiq is an established teacher and researcher in the interdisciplinary field of inter/cultural studies. He has taught English, linguistics, translation and interpreting, intercultural studies, media and communication. His research sits at the interface of intercultural communication, media and representation as discourse (managing intercultural encounters in/of human interaction and behavior). He has published widely on these issues. He has assumed a number of academic administrative positions, including head/chair of departments, and director /coordinator of graduate and undergraduate programs.
